Sounds Like
"the most timeless sounding acoustic music I've ever heard. Guitar and voice combine to sound like something that should come on a 78rpm vinyl and be played on a gramophone." -Biff Birkin, Time Travel Opportunist
Jo Lewis is a musician, a writer, and a Mancunian. She studies in Derby, misses Manchester, and can't decide which she prefers. She loves gigging, writing, recording, and playing with other musicians (see for example Known By An Alias). She is learning not to underestimate the importance of listening. She released her first EP in 2007, and is working on her second. She sometimes likes to write about herself in the third person, and wholeheartedly believes that bourbons are better than party rings. Is this bio too pretentious? Probably.
hey yeah im alright, got quite a bit to do at the moment but i think im on top of it. How are things your end, are you still about in manchester................
Heya Jo! Sorry only just got my internet working again, yeah i may pop down tonight, i'm seeing a friends band at Jabezz Clegg so i dunno if i'm staying there or not. I'm super busy this week but i'll try and make it down tonight :)
Yeah with my Behringer amp there's an effect on there that makes it sound like a violin, I'll find it again when I get home, been at Tom's for like two days. Let me know when you're recording stuff, I'd like to be a part of it or just offer some support!,
Afternoon Miss Lewis! Just as case you worrying I had died, I havn't. And have two new songs up on Myspace called 'Bounce' and 'Heys' if you'd like a listen? And feel free to leave me gratuitous praise or scathing abuse :P (or a happy medium, I'd quite like to know what you think to be honest )
Hey Jo! Really enjoyed your set last night. That guy who sang a song with no guitar after you was.....well I can't even think up a word for him, he was that bad! Anyway hope to see you again sometime, I'l come watch you at the deaf institute.
Oh shit, yeah, it's October! I thought it was July! Good job I checked my Myspace today!
Sorry I'm too late for the coffee (4 days late!), Myspace isn't a reliable form of communication. Maybe next time though! Hope everything's good with you?
Jo! Thank you, I'm really glad you like it! I'm not sure which version I prefer, but I'm a really bad one to judge. I'll bring a CD down to the Deaf Institute, how's that?
Hiya Jo! Hope you're well! I'll do my utmost to get down on the 19th, or better still, I'll also play if it's open mic! Got some new stuff up too! Finally been a little less lazy!
