ABOUT JOSKI Sounds like – ‘Roxy Music’ meets the ‘Killers’ coming back from a ‘Yes’ concert…
JOSKI are a four-piece rock, pop and progressive band from London who play great songs with skill, passion, glamour and verve.
Formed in 2007 initially as a five piece but now with just one guitar JOSKI have several more gigs at Club Smash! - Club Smash! is our creation and means that we get to play a fab gig in the West End of London on the third Monday of each month! COME ON DOWN!!
JOSKI are currently recording new tracks - 'Howard Roark' (Who is Howard Roark? - a character in the 1949 film "The Fountainhead") this song is up there now - 'Whadya Want' is new and also a new version of 'You're One' - properly recorded for the first time. Also another new song - "I know we're from the Stars" which will be on the new EP coming shortly!
The JOSKI sound has three main strands - the Glam rock-pop three minute 'hits' like 'Howard Roark' and 'She Loves', then there is the prog sound of crafted, longer, tunes like 'Fascinated' and 'Aliveoscope' which paint a slightly deeper picture maybe - and then there is a third strand where the pop/rock and the prog come together. an example of this is 'You're One'. So you see - there is a lot to choose from, and all under the JOSKI banner!
Glam or Nu-Glam - What is that?! - Well, we reckon it is time to chuck out the indie-alternative greyness of current rock bands, enough Converse already! Dress up a little - push a boundary or two or three - how did we all get so timid!? 'Glam' doesn't necessarily mean glitter - it just means having a bit of style and originality, wear a sharp suit even! Mind you - glittery things go a long way!
