The young and experimental percussionist Joss Turnbull, born 1985, was influenced by world percussion instruments right from the beginning of his life. Led and inspired by his father Mike Turnbull he started by learning latin and oriental hand drums.
Joss performs as a soloist since he is 17. He currently works with didgeridoo performer Ansgar M.- Stein, singer Thomas Clements, with oud player Raed Khoshaba and in Duo Doyra - art of frame drums with percussionist Nora Thiele.
2002 Joss Turnbull was invited by Dr. Masaru Emoto to give an opening concert for the world wide Congress of Water in Lichtenstein.
Furthermore Turnbull was supporting act from Trilok Gurtu, Hermann Kathans "Buschwerk" with Nippy Noya and Rüdiger Opermann.
Since 2005 he studied tonbak and played concerts with Mohammad Mortazavi. 2007 Joss was the youngest teacher at the International Frame Drum Festival Tamburi Mundi in Freiburg Germany.
He studies at the university of music an performing arts mannheim. Since 2009 he collaborates with the oriental music academy in mannheim.

'Ocean' is a solo piece played on an oceandrum. The track is available on the duo CD "Regen",

'Dancing Shadows' is played with percussionist and photographer Olaf Plotz on Kalimba and Joss Turnbull
on frame drums and voice. The spontaneous recordings are made in an ex- manufactury hall, the project of Olaf Plotz calls Alsen Klingt.
'Puls' is composed by Mohammd Mortazavi. It was recorded live at Werkstatt der Kulturen, Berlin/Germany. Joss Turnbull plays cajon and frame drums.
'steeldrum, voice and megaphone' is improvised by Joss Turnbull on steeldrum and voice, Olaf Plotz plays with feedbacks of a megaphone.
