A word on Edgar Cayce
35 years ago Edgar came to me along with many other explorations of the mind - including Paul Twitchel, Buddha, Jesus of Nazareth, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Vishnu, Alan Watts, and the list goes on. Edgar's philosophy’s as stated through his readings permeated my mind at some of the crucial points in my deliberations while creating "Journey Home". He is very much a part of my journey and the daily readings sent to my inbox and which I post on the bulletin nourish the roots of my being and lift me out of the mundane.
Journey Home is not a story about Edgar Cayce. It is a story about us all and it all and the power that is creation, the revelation of its existence to our eyes and all that we see without and within. In the end this reality and all that it entails, surrounds and commingles with us which is art, which is creation, which is consciousness on many vast levels and the process that comprises it's make up is both seen and unseen.
And so, "isn't it amazing" is a more than appropriate frame of mind as we live through our lives and unfold and have unfolded upon us the beauty of it all.

"I have become so discouraged when I look around and see what is happening in this existence; but then there are people, such as yourself, and things, such as this book, that give me reason to continue going ahead and being positive." ... Donna
"Journey Home is...amazing. It is written with such care and nurture. I was reeled in so strongly by carefully threaded passages throughout the story. You provoked in me, a renewed vigor...and captured me through your use of carefully chosen descriptions and seemingly effortless wording.
Journey Home conveyed an immense array of existential thoughts and questions, not easily verbalized by most because of their intense and provocative nature. While some passages are often cerebral, they are met equally by the heart.
In the bigger sense, you cleverly ask readers to think beyond themselves and beyond the ordinary range of perception...and get us to consider what we really could accomplish together." ... A.J.
"I just finished reading Journey Home and I can't tell you how bowled over I am. It is so insightful and powerful and it emanates such wonderment of reality...Phenomenal on so many levels...tremendous!" ... Aimee'
"I just read "The DaVinci Code" a great story, but not really all that well written. Your writing is much better, evocative and inspiring!" ... Brooke
Paul Burke is some fantastic, talented writer. His adventure takes you through the soul of life and you find yourself reflecting on your own path, questioning the purpose of where you are going and even to the depths of how to make change in one self and for the world. It is an eye-opener! It is down to earth and humanly raw! I loved this book and highly recommend it as a must read!! ... The Knowledge Tree Bookstore

Who I'd like to meet: Journey Home is the story of Danny and his band giving it one more try as they venture through Florida and Louisiana looking for a steady gig and something to eat. Their travels take them from an old brothel on the back bay in Florida through Mississippi in the middle of the night and straight into the heart of New Orleans. Their wild and chaotic ride forces them to run and hide from a crazy world only to come to terms with themselves and it all.
Burke takes us to a town that is a microcosm of the modern society we have created. It is a world fraught with crimes, indifference, and cynicism. The characters are in their individual ways disillusioned and broken souls. But even so, the band members have their dreams and their music. Whether the band will eventually fulfill their dreams or not is only one of the interesting points of the book.
Journey Home is a philosophical exploration of life and its realities. With protagonists that breathe and live music, this book no doubt will please music lovers. But this work is not merely about music. Paul Burke makes an ultimate statement about life and living, one that will inspire and challenge every human being about the world we have built for ourselves.
Paul Burke has a long and rich background in the visual arts, broadcasting, music and theater. He has been creating in one medium or another for over thirty years. He spent ten of those years as a leading contributor to WLFR, a public radio station he helped to start, guide and define. He championed and interviewed individual artists such as Doc Watson, Tom Rush, Rory Block, and Arlo Guthrie. His show was dedicated to non-commercial artists and environmental causes. Through WLFR, grass roots organizations were able to express their civic concerns stopping a trash incinerator in an ecologically sensitive waterway in Egg Harbor Township, banning the burn of trash and waste off the coast of Cape May, New Jersey, and moving a major manufacturer to recycle.
Journey Home is a result of the thirty plus years Paul Burke has spent in the world of audio and visual arts, performing at small venues, touring with a national theater group, and championing environmental activism.
Calcutta sounds like a fable in a song, but in reality, it is where John, my colleague and successor, was murdered. He was on the job for only three days when he got his throat slashed. As an undercover investigator targeting the illegal wildlife trade, especially in tiger parts, his real name was unknown, even to me, nor mine to him. We were just John and James to each other. All I know is that he was Chinese American, while his predecessor James - real name Anthony Marr - is Chinese Canadian, and how sincere he was in helping to save the Bengal tiger from being poached out of existence, while its habitat continues to dwindle due to human pressure...
Thanks so much! Trying to help folks - in some small way - wake up to the political machine. (P.S. Just ordered your book on Amazon, can't wait to read it). Have a wonderful week!
