I started learning to play the guitar and write songs around the age of 16. My CD collection was ever-expanding with artists from The Beatles to Bowie, Janis to Joni, Bobs Dylan and Marley to Pink Floyd and Christy! My greatest influences and inspiration, however, came from much closer to home. Spurred on and encouraged by a host of local sessioners, I watched and listened and learned and eventually began to play regularly around my home town.
In late 2007, I was given an opportunity to perform some of my own material at The Backroom Sessions in Navan. This was, thankfully, well-received and led to a busy 2008!
