   About Chris Joye
I grew up in South Eastern, PA, and have been playing bass for 8 years years. I was accepted to Berklee College of Music on a scholarship and received my dual-major degree (Film Scoring and Professional Music) in Spring 2007.

I currently compose, score movie projects, gig, teach, and do freelance bass studio work around the Chicago area.

I am availible for hire for studio projects, film scoring, tutoring, and more. I play a wide range of styles, including jazz, rock, funk, Brazilian, various World styles, folk, classical and more.

I teach private bass lessons from beginner to advanced levels. I focus mainly on harmony and technique; but also stress bass line construction and improvisation, melody, rhythmic interpretation, ear training, reading, ensemble playing, composition and more.

Yo! What up Boston! Yeah I'm still playing music. I'm going to update my lame myspace page with some things I've recorded soon. Congrats on the job man. Tell everyone I said hey. Can Aaron lift more than 180 yet?

It's great out here. Plenty of work.. Berklee is a sweet little dream compared to what is going down over here, so enjoy :-) However, I am loving it and am doing very good! Good luck with your directed study and try to get some sleep ;-)

Cheers,
Roman

That new filmscore in your videos section is much more upbeat. I like the sounds of hopefulness and joy as he stabs the crap out of that turkey.

This new haircut makes a bold social statement about the intollerable differences placed upon us by the so called non-partisan government. The reverend Chris Joye says, "I don't have to explain my art to you!"

Thanks for the add. It seems that Matthew G. influences people even across the ocean. You're lucky to study with him. Your tracks are harmonically fresh!!! It's great!!! I'm also amazed to see somebody able to play a patitucci like bass! how can you do that??? is it possible to play complex chords on it?? It is so wide!!! Phil P. from France
