Joyelle Brandt has been around music most of her life. As lead singer and songwriter for electro-pop band Sonicjoy, Joyelle co-wrote the song “New Again”, which won the Z95 Songwriting contest and received airplay around British Columbia. Joyelle has also recorded songs for various compilation CDs, including Songs For Choice and Manouvres 1. But when her son was born in 2007, she knew she needed some time away to enjoy new motherhood. Coming back to music after a two-year hiatus, Joyelle found that her focus had changed and so had her style. Drawn to the music being made by artists like the Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flatts, Joyelle found that country music was her new passion. She took this new inspiration and combined it with her longtime love of great folk songwriters like James Taylor, and blended the two to create her new sound. Currently in pre-production for her first solo CD, Joyelle is starting over on a whole new adventure.
