Il nucleo iniziale del Joyful Gospel Group si forma nel 1994 dalla volontà di una giovane ragazza di formare un piccolo gruppo vocale con la finalità di intraprendere una breve esperienza musicale. Grazie all'entusiasmo dei ragazzi l'esperienza diviene l'inizio di un vero e proprio percorso. Al gruppo vengono dati un indirizzo musicale, un nome ed una divisa - la loro tradizionale tunica viola con stola dorata. E' così che nasce il Joyful Gospel Group. Dal 1998 ad oggi il coro può vantare una serie di concerti che lo hanno portato a collaborare con A.V.E.L.L. (Associazione Veneta per la Lotta contro i Linfomi e le Leucemie), con AGAPE di Campalto - Venezia (associazione O.N.L.U.S. che dal 1980 si occupa di assistenza ed inserimento sociale delle persone disabili) ed infine con U.I.C. (Unione Italiana Ciechi) di Mestre. Nel 2000 il Joyful Gospel Group si esibisce in Piazza San Marco in occasione del Carnevale di Venezia e viene chiamato a cantare in Piazza Duomo a Treviso per il Giubileo. Nel 2007, da quando cioé comincia ad auto gestirsi ed auto dirigersi completamente, il gruppo partecipa per la prima volta alla rassegna "Incroci Musicali ", manifestazione patrocinata dalla Municipalità di Mestre e Carpendo ed organizzata dall'Associazione Culturale Orchestra Sinfonica Laurentina (esperienza che si ripete successivamente con due date nel 2009). Nello stesso anno il coro si esibisce a Bologna nella Chiesa Evangelico Metodista in occasione di "B.L.A.C.K: Bologna Gospel and Afro-American Music Kermesse": un'esperienza fondamentale e momento di svolta per il percorso musicale del gruppo. Il 2007 porta inoltre il Joyful Gospel Group per le strade di Mestre grazie alla sua partecipazione alla rassegna "Mestre Più"; l'esperienza, che si ripete anche nell'edizione dell'anno successivo, viene affiancata dalla partecipazione del coro alla rassegna musicale "Gospel Spirit V" svoltasi nella provincia di Rovigo. Negli ultimi anni inoltre, il coro ha avuto modo di portare un po' di buona musica "nera" sui palchi di alcuni importanti locali della città e della provincia di Venezia come "Al Vapore" di Marghera, Venezia. Negli ultimi tempi molte cose sono cambiate: il repertorio si è arricchito, il metodo di lavoro si è affinato e variazioni nell'organico hanno rinvigorito le energie del gruppo. La passione per l'ascolto, lo studio e l'interpretazione della musica Gospel e Spiritual, l'impegno in questo progetto musicale comune ed anche un forte legame affettivo sono gli ingredienti che hanno sempre tenuto assieme e che continuano ancora oggi ad unire i componenti del coro e che rendono il Joyful Gospel Group un gruppo vocale unico nel suo genere. ........ ________________________________________________________________________.......... ........The initial formation of the Joyful Gospel Group dates back to 1994 when a very strongly motivated 14 year old girl decided to bring together a small group of young "kids" (aged 9 to 14) who all had in common the love for music and wanted to share a musical experience that would have lasted all summer. Thanks to the group's great initiative and spirit, this summer experience never ended. She furthermore gave the group an artistic path to follow: that of Gospel music. Step by step the choir started gaining confidence and its own identity, which brought by the birth of its name "Joyful Gospel Group" and its stylish uniform: the traditional purple tunics with golden bands. These important elements marked the official beginning of the "JGG experience". It took the choir a brief amount of time to be contacted for various events. As soon as the choir started holding concerts ( in various churches and theatres), the members began enjoying their first satisfactions of their hard work. The choir started gaining popularity thanks to the increasing public at the concerts. In 1998 the Joyful Gospel Group collaborates with the AVELL (Venetian Association against Lymphoma and Leukemia) holding several fund raising concerts in order to devolve their income to the association. In 2000, in the occasion of the Carnival of Venice, the choir performs in Saint Mark's Square. In that same year, they were called to perform in the Piazza Duomo in Treviso for the Jubilee. In 2002 the choir has the honor to collaborate with the ONLUS association AGAPE, which has been active since the 1980s. This association offers help to people with special needs. Since 2005 the choir has been cooperating with the UIC (Italian Union for the Blind), participating in various fundraising events for scientific research. In 2007 the choir is honored to receive the patronage of the Municipality of Mestre and Carpenedo collaborating in the musical review Incroci musicali 2007, with the Laurentina Cultural Symphonic Orchestral Association, directed by the organizer and artistic director Maurizio Di Bella, recognized in all of Europe for his musical achievements as a pianist, orchestral and choral director, and for his musical compositions. Continuing with 2007, the choir reaches Bologna where, in occasion of the B.L.A.C.K: Bologna Gospel and Afro-American Music Kermesse, has the chance to sing on the 12th of May at the Evangelic-Methodist Church, together with two other choirs, one of which is the church's own African choir. For this occasion the members present a track list enriched with passion and traditional songs performed entirely a cappella accompanied by percussions: a new experience for the Joyful Gospel Group and an important moment in relating themselves with other cultures. During both the months of May and June 2007, the choir is contacted to sing during the manifestation "Mestre Più 2007" that takes place in the center of Mestre city, entertaining the public with two hours of positive energy driven music and filling the streets of Mestre with spicy black rhythms and sounds. The experience repeats itself again in December of the same year, in the occasion of the manifestation "A Natale è Mestrepiù". During these last years many changes have taken place; the members of the JGG have affined their working methods and have enriched their repertoire and new arrivals have invigorated the group. Since march 2007 the choir has been completely self managed and self directed; this peculiarity makes the JGG a very special choir. Several factors remain the binding elements of the group: the love and will to sing, the passion for gospel music and a strong bond of affection. These are the ingredients that have always tied and kept the group united and unique in its kind until today. "A concert of ours is not only an occasion where you can listen to some good music or a way to spend a few hours in a different way, above all things it means interaction with the public in every way. This also means feeling totally surrounded by the solemn and joyful rhythms of Gospel music, enriched with an immense historical background, the essence of music which is at the heart of modern music!" .. ....

JOYFUL GOSPEL GROUP

Il nucleo iniziale del Joyful Gospel Group si forma nel 1994 dalla volontà di una giovane ragazza di formare un piccolo gruppo vocale con la finalità di intraprendere una breve esperienza musicale.
