Sounds Like
My Bloody Valentine, Brian Wilson, r.black mic, AIR, Grandaddy, Mercury Rev, Stereolab, Belle & Sebastian, Captain Beefheart, Monkeys Banging on Tin Cans, Big Star, Beck, Apples In Stereo, Serge Gainsbourg, Burt Bacharach, Bonnie Prince Billy, Gram Parsons/Grievous Angel, Neutral Milk Hotel, Pixies, The Beach Boys, The Breeders, Galaxie 500.... but mostly like itself!
I'm listening to "Dosed And Became Invisible" for the first time. What a gorgeous song. I love the strings and the vocals are so smooth. Great song, thanks for sharing it!
Joy Zipper's sound is ever so numbing. A musical Novocaine so to speak. That's my best attempt at describing the musical complexity. It's good to have an original trade mark sound. So glad you guys have been consistent and haven't sold out.
You know I love hearing that Joy Zipper element in it. No, it doesn't sound the same as all the other songs but has that same consistency/ Joy Zipper flavored brand if you will.
Bravo!
P.S. I also like Mark's picture below here (assuming it's for moonmoonmoon)
Actually, last summer a somewhat similar thing happened.
My then girlfriend took me out to Long Beach (my first time) . We took the LIRR from Penn Station. Again, my first time taking it.
Anyway, so we have a blast there and on the ride back to the city, we're both really tired and we just start listening to our ipods.
I'm listening to some random stuff.. Nirvana, Roy Orbison etc when the train comes to a halt and in big bold letters there are signs that read " Valley Stream"
Immediately, i switched my ipod to the actual song off American Whip and I'm in such a musical audio/visual trance. Thinking to myself..this is where JZ was when they recorded it or they had significant memories here, or perhaps they still live (i had no idea) etc.
true opinion: i feel this group brings alot to the table... a nyce feel... reality's touch... of grown up music.... / all the best to the group and the future of it... / and i would love 2 remix "Go Tell The World" or a pt.2 .... much respects ~ CA$INO
Hello you two, congrats on your wedding. I dont know if you remember when you played in Dublin last year and you met an Irish couple in a pub after the gig, who were big fans, and who enjoyed the concert? Well that was me and my girlfriend Maeve. I cant wait to tell her you two are married!
