Recently coming to the large public attention with his "fantastic display of a virtuoso technique that few in the world could match" (Piano World) and "mind blowing, heart stopping and pushing to the extreme limits of human body " (France2) Prokofiev performances , Jozef Kapustka was born in Poland in 1969 and began his musical studies at the age of 3. Meeting Sviatoslav Richter shortly thereafter has set his vocation eversince. Upon graduating from the New York Juilliard School in 1992 with a straight A record he has completed a Postgraduate Advanced Studies diploma specialising in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London , having worked subsequently with Dmitri Baskirov in Madrid and legendary Vera Gornostaeva in Moscow . He eventually settled down to live in Paris. Very early Kapustka started to appear in some of the world class premises such as New York Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum, United Nations, Carnegie Hall ("magical,amazing experience" as seen in "The New York Times") and has been featured on Voice of America International and New York classical radio WQXR live radio broadcasts ( "one of the most interesting radio programmings on the air"-New York Village Voice). Furthermore he has been featured on France Musique and Europe1 broadcasts. Passionate traveller he has been playing virtually all over the world, having also set a foot in such exotic places like Tahiti, Spitsbergen, Rio de Janeiro favelas or ancient Roman theaters in North Africa ("what a talent! a true juke-box! ask the piece,he plays it"- Depeche du midi, "close to delirious" - Figaro, "great pianist keen on introspection, obsessed technician" - Nurnberger Zeitung, " a particularly beautiful concert" - Christine Berbudeau for Radio France International ). Kapustka is a winner of numerous prizes and awards, among those 1994 Grand Prix of the Paris International Conservatory. A highly respected American critic and writer,David Dubal ("Remembering Horowitz") has once called Kapustka a " great pianist who loves his art", leading American authority on Liszt playing Jerome Lowenthal "an excellent and very interesting artist" , Josef Raieff ( last pupil of Alexander Siloti who on his turn was Liszt student) " man with million dollar hands", pianists Gyorgy Sandor and Oxana Yablonskaya respectively " true musical talent of an extraordinary potential " and " a very exciting and fully committed individual" . His solo or joint performances are unvariably and unanimously met by public and critical acclaim, as seen recently: "...a high voltage stuntman,inspired and talentuous" ; "sensational,both monumental and intimist pianist", "very few people in the world could attempt to match his dexterity and precision","highly entertaining playing" 20 minutes Europe,"...extraordinary talent"- Virginie Lemoine with Olivier Bellamy on France classique radio. Mr.Kapustka future projects include a number of engagements in Europe and South America.

Jozef Kapustka est un pianiste virtuose polonais au parcours particulierement singulier. Apprecié aussi bien pour ses interpretations de Prokofiev 'qui provoquent une peur ancestrale et arrachent le cerveau' et ' poussent les limites du corps humain aux extremes ' que pour son Ravel 'particulierement imaginatif,coloré,poétique,sensible et élègant' et Liszt 'spectaculaire' Jozef Kapustka est né a Tarnow en Pologne en 1969, ou il commence l' apprentissage de la musique a l'age de 3 ans avec le pedagogue local Danuta Cieslik. C'est rencontre quelques années plus tard avec Sviatoslav Richter, qui decidera de sa vocation. Diplomé de la Juilliard School de New York , de la Royal Academy of Music de Londres, alumnus de la Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara,USA, titulaire du diplome supérieur de la langue et civilisation francaise de la Sorbonne, ayant travaillé avec Dmitri Bashkirov a Madrid et Vera Gornostaeva a Moscou , cet artiste controversé et inclassable se considére néanmoins autodidacte. Lauréat de plusieurs prix internationaux ( entre autres le Grand Prix du Conservatoire International de Paris en 1994), gagnant du concours 1991 Artist International a New York M.Kapustka a commencè très tot sa carrière du concertiste en se produisant notamment a Carnegie Hall (1997), Lincoln Center de New York (1989-1992), Les Nations Unis (2004), Metropolitan Museum of Art (1991) et également comme invitè de la radio Voice of America International et a la radio classique new yorkaise WQXR. Ses performances se caracterisent par le degrée elevé d'émotivité, prise de risques spectaculaires sur le plan technique, un certain rejet de la convention academique et la presence scenique inspirée et charismatique qui lui a value l'attention de plusieurs metteurs en scene du théatre (Roger Louret, Jean Christian Grinevald , Virginie Lemoine...) L ' accueil du public aussi bien que de la critique étant toujours enthousiaste le pianiste a parcouru pratiquement le monde entier depuis (toute Europe,les Etats Unis, Amerique du Sud,Afrique du Nord et proche Orient).
