    J.P.'s Interests
GeneralI've always wanted to put 'world peace,' but frankly, I'm thinking that may be a lost cause... so, writing, reading, movies ... entertainment with a capital E.
MusicLately, I've been enjoying Celtic Music, in addition to my usual fare, which varies from Sheryl Crow to Handel's Messiah. Each has its own meaning to my writing, sets a specific mood or stimulates a certain emotion.
MoviesToo many to name, count or imagine - I own comic movies like Superman Returns, Daredevil, Mystery Men. I own horror movies like The Others and Underworld. I own the Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies and cute romantic comedies and Princess Bride, Simply Irrestible. I keep buying them and pretty soon I'll have as many movies as I have books. OMG, they're going to take over my house!
TelevisionHex, Criminal Minds, Numbers, House, Bones, Supernatural, Heroes, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Dr. Who, Most Haunted, Stargate, Firefly ... I could go on and on, but I'm seeing a pattern beginning to develop. Can't wait for The Dresden Files.
BooksMy new favorite author is Simon R. Green, who I'd really like to meet! Jim Butcher is a really nice guy, and I hope to get to know him better. I read across the board, too, from Kim Harrison and Chelsea Quinn Yarbrough to F. Paul Wilson, Tolkien, Iris Johansen and Shakespeare.
HeroesEveryone is a hero, in my opinion. Too many to mention - including the comic book kind and my best friend and lover.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!

There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.

Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."

And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."

Hi J.P., thanks for the friending. My favorite dragon quote is "if you can't stand the heat, don't tickle the dragon", but yours is good too. Have you ever thought of writing a horror/fantasy novel about dust bunnies? *lol* Have a great weekend!

Hi there J.P.
Thought I would stop by and say HI.
It is nice to see a local here. (I used to live in Missouri.)
I will be checking out your writing and I invite you to do the same over on my page.
I post "First Chapters" of my work there in the blog section.
That way people can read and enjoy. And if they feel like it can tell me what they thought.
I love feedback.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE was released this month - and is in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com. I hope you'll check out the book! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten:

“SACRIFICE is not for the timid or weak of heart, it is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend Sacrifice.”
—Famous Monsters of Filmland

“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes

"I'm Glad I've Touched Keyboards With You"

Into my life came a radiant hue,
Colors of friendship, and riches anew.
Your unselfish manner asking, "What can I do?"
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you!
Your friendship I treasure--words simply can't say,
The warmth and affection your e-mails display.
Always wishing to give, and your words do ring true.
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you!
We share many secrets as most "Friends" do.
We've suffered, survived; and, yes, made it thru.
Those difficult times, when most had no clue.
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you!
As the breeze gently blows thru fresh morning air,
I see you not, yet I know you are there.
*Smiles* that glisten as fresh morning dew,
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you.
You've painted my world, and Oh what a 'View.'
Sweet pale pinks, fresh greens, and gentle blue.
When my day is finished, and I bid adieu,
I thank God I've touched keyboards with you.
