Giorgio Piccinini, seguendo le prime ispirazione artistiche, dal 1989 studia batteria e percussioni (presso una scuola della provincia di Roma) e, dal Settembre 1991, frequenta il primo Primo Liceo Artistico di Roma in Via di Ripetta, nella sezione architettura, studiando Disegno e Pittura con il Prof. Edoardo Palumbo e la Prof.ssa Donatella Monachesi, e scultura con il Prof. Fulvio Ligi. Le sue prime opere sono disegni a grafite e pastelli figurativi su carta ma, dal 1995, inizia gradualmente a semplificare le forme, allontanandosi così dalla rappresentazione realista per approdare nell’astrattismo, dapprima geometrico, quasi divisionista, decisamente informale poi. Negli anni 1994 e 1995 partecipa alle esposizioni collettive di fine anno dei giovani artisti del Liceo. Finiti gli studi, pensa di applicare l’arte al suono ed è così che, nel 1996, si specializza in Post produzione e manipolazione digitale Audio presso l’Istituto Italiano d’Informativa Musicale. Senza spengere l’ispirazione per la pittura e la scultura, lavora nell’ambito della produzione musicale (assistente di produzione per la colonna sonora del film “I giardini dell’Eden” con Kim Rossi Stuart” degli Agricantus. Produzioni di Romina Johnson, Derek Wilson…) e successivamente, del broadcast (Radio 101, Globecast - Mediaset) portando avanti parallelamente, una collaborazione artistica con gli “Afterwards”, una giovane rock-band in stile Skin-Buckley, nonché una produzione personale di musica elettronica basata sulla sperimentazione dei suoni vintage e su samples scovati nel vasto panorama musicale mondiale; a tutt’oggi affianca di pari passo, la produzione musicale a quella pittorica e grafica. L’attuale arte di Giorgio Piccinini si fonda sull’astrattismo materico-cromatico, frutto di uno studio dei tratti somatici delle più importanti correnti artistiche contemporanee, sobriamente miscelate con l’intento di comunicare stati d’animo, sensazioni o, più semplicemente, piacere visivo tramite il colore e la materia. 2005-2007 GIORGIO PICCININI & JPFunk Project. All Rights Reserved Giorgio Piccinini, following his first artisitic inspirations, began studying drums and percussions at a school in the Rome province in 1989. In September of 1991 he formally began studying art at the renowned Artistic High School of Rome, in the heart of the city (Via di Ripetta) where he specialized in architecture. He also studied design and painting under the guidance of Prof. Edoardo Palumbo and Prof. Donatella Monachesi. He studied sculpture with Prof. Fulvio Ligi. His first works were figurative designs using grafite and pastel pencils on paper but since 1995 has gradually simplified the forms, getting away from realistic representations and approaching abstract art. Initially his designs were geometric almost divisionistic, and later very informal. In 1994 and 1995 he participated in collective exhibitions of the school. After graduation he decided to apply art to sound and in 1996 began specializing in post-production and digital audio manipulation at the Italian Institute of Musical Information. Without diminishing his inspiration for painting and sculpture, he has worked in musical production (Prod. Asst. for the soundtrack of “The Gardens of Eden” with Kim Rossi Stuart, of Agricantus, produced by Romina Johnson, Derek Wilson…) and later in broadcasting (Radio 101, Globecast-Mediaset). He has also been offering artistic collaboration in the meantime to the “Afterwards”, a young rock band in Skin-Buckley style, as well as a personal production of electronic music based on the experimentation of vintage sounds and samples of a vast panorama of music from all over the world. Even today he nurtures his passion for musical production on the same level as his passion for paintings and graphics. The art of Giorgio Piccinini is founded on chromatic-material abstractism, a result of the study of somatic drawings of the most important contemporary artists of today, soberly combined with the intention of communicating a state-of-mind, sensation or more simply, visual pleasure using color and material. 2005-2007 GIORGIO PICCININI & JPFunk Project.
