WHO IS THIS JP HOE?
Following the previous success of his first two projects; "The Here in Review" EP, and "The Live Beta Project", which sold thousands of copies without the support of a record label, J.P. Hoe delivers his first full length studio album "The Dear John Letters". A collection of 18 songs that J.P. describes as "an honest mixture of melody and subject matter", the album is a marriage of Indie-rock, Alt-country, and traditional singer/songwriter.
"The Dear John Letters" officially released in fall of 2008 was met with a warm reception, including a CBC Canada Live Recording, visits to folk fests (incl. the Winnipeg Folk Fest), and a tour with renowned singer-songwriter Emm Gryner. Most recently, the record has been nominated for 2 nods at the 2009 Western Canadian Music Awards, including Outstanding Pop Recording and Songwriter of the Year. The Dear John Letters LP is just the latest stepping-stone in the anticipated lengthy career for this young artist.
He is no stranger to the stage having toured across Canada with multi-Juno Award Winner Jann Arden in 2007, and has performed in famed city's New York, Chicago, and Austin. J.P. can deliver an entertaining performance guitar in hand on his own or with the support of his back up band the Truly Richards. His songs and personality continue to leave a lasting impression on music lovers across the continent.
With a list of achievements already crossed off and more ambitions to conquer J.P., a singer/songwriter at the root promises "The Dear John Letters" is the musical mark he has wanted to make since his 2003 debut. J.P. invites you on his creative journey.
