J Ray (A.K.A. Jacob Kindberg) is a singer/songwriter originally from Apple Valley, MN, currently working as a video editor in Santa Monica, CA. For the past 4 years he has been the off and on lead singer of a hard rock band called Neutral Row. As a side project in 2005 he began working on his first hip hop album. J Ray produced and recorded the entire album using his laptop and a Sony Digital8 camcorder. Half of the tracks were done at his home in Minnesota and in his dorm room at Biola Univeristy in La Mirada, CA. The rest of the songs were recorded in Japan where he studied abroad for 4 months. "Five Year Slump" was released on iTunes in the summer of 2006. He is now working on the follow up to that album entitled "Dreams and Visions", which should be ready for a summer release.
