Imagine um cara que consegue imprimir sua marca em qualquer tipo de música sem desafinar ou perder o compasso. Agora, junte isso com outras características: Uma capacidade incrível de criar personagens e inventar histórias tão mirabolantes, que o ouvinte acaba acreditando mesmo sem ter certeza se aquilo é verdade ou ficção. Esse é Jr.Black, cantor, compositor e uma das vozes mais refinadas da cena pernambucana, que largou o curso de direito para se dedicar a música em tempo integral. Sua carreira teve início em 2001, com o Negroove, banda que animava as noites recifenses com samba e picardia, com a qual rodou o Brasil, indo até o Chile em 2006. No entanto, as referências de Jr.Black iam além das batidas sincopadas, e logo ele passou a emprestar sua voz a jingles, locuções, e participações nos discos de outros artistas. E foi nessa pegada, entre um trabalho e outro, que os produtores do Sungatrio (China, Chiquinho e Homero Basílio) perceberam a pluralidade do cantor e convidaram-no para gravar um disco de música eletrônica. Ouvindo algumas dessas gravações, no meio de 2008, DJ Dolores achou o crooner que precisava para estar à frente da sua banda. Com o DJ, Jr.Black viajou pro velho mundo e participou de importantes festivais na França (Millau Jazz Festival – Millau e no Cabaret Sauvage – Paris), Espanha (Spacio Movistar – Barcelona), Bélgica (Dranouter Festival – Dranouter e Polé Polé – Ghent) e Suíça (Paléo Festival – Nyon) e, de volta ao Brasil, estreou com o DJ no TIM Festival do mesmo ano.
Agora, Jr.Black trabalha com o Sungatrio para finalizar seu primeiro álbum solo, RGB (Joínha Records), que chega às lojas e blogs da internet ainda em 2009. Neste disco, o cantor sintetiza tudo o que foi absorvido desde o início de sua carreira até agora, e traz para você um som cheio de balanço e ótimas sacadas!
Think about a guy who impresses his own mark in every kind of music without losing the tune or tempo. Now, add it up with other features: an incredible ability of creating characters and inventing such amazing tales that the person who’s listening to them gets quite unsure if it’s true or pure fiction. This is Jr. Black, a singer, composer and one of the most refined voices from the musical scenario of Pernambuco who quit advocacy to fully dedicate himself to music. His career got started in 2001 when he founded Negroove, a band that warmed up the nights of Recife with a set of samba, soul and funk, when he played all over the main Brazilian capitals, even moving out to Chile, in 2006. However, his references went beyond the syncopated beats, and soon he started lending his voice to jingles and locutions for radio and TV spots as well as participating in other artists’ albums. And that was the pace when the Sungatrio producers (China, Chiquinho and Homero Basílio), noticing this multi-skilled talent, invited him to record an electronic album. Listening to some of these yet unreleased tracks DJ Dolores found the crooner that was missing in his new band formation and along with him traveled to Europe in the end of 2008, where they performed in very important festivals and places in France (Millau Jazz Festival – Millau, Cabaret Sauvage – Paris), Spain (Spacio Movistar – Barcelona), Belgium (Dranouter Jazz Festival – Dranouter, Polé Polé – Ghent) and Switzerland (Paleó Festival – Nyon) as well as back to Brazil, when they played at the respectful TIM Festival, in Rio de Janeiro. Nowadays, besides singing for DJ Dolores, Jr. Black is finalizing his first solo album along with Sungatrio, that will be called RGB (Joínha Records), and will be released by the end of 2009, though you may already find some tracks in internet blogspot’s collections. In this work, Jr. Black synthesizes everything he absorbed ever since his beginning until now, bringing up to you some bust-a-move songs and mellow soul themes.
