J.R. is an avid Salsa dancer, singer and songwriter. Like many Filipinos, J.R. enjoyed singing and started singing early in his teen-age years in the Philippines, in Montreal, and in Toronto. Born in the town of New Washington, in the Province of Aklan, Philippines, he spent most of his adult life in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
J.R. will incarnate old hit songs performed originally by great artists in to the upbeat genre of Salsa, including converting two famous Filipino songs (Matud Nila and Usahay from the island of CEBU). J.R. wrote and composed two original English songs (Dance With Me and From A Distance).
