Interests

  • General

I like websurfing, reading, playing RPGs and CCGs, fencing, traveling (when I get the chance), and hanging out with friends.
  • Music

My current favorites are Garbage, Nightwish, Evanescence, Switchblade Symphony, Stolen Babies, and Metallica.

Oh, and there's that Weird Al guy, too.

You are 60% white and nerdy.
How White and Nerdy Are You?

  • Movies

My favorite movies include the Star Wars saga, Die Hard, the Star Trek films, Galaxy Quest, Ghostbusters, anything with Godzilla in the title, The Manchurian Candidate, Predator, and the Indiana Jones movies.

Yes, I realize this list proves that I am a nerd. I can live with this.

  • Television

I don't watch much TV anymore. The Internet is so much more engaging. I do make an exception for Chuck and Heroes on Monday nights, but that's about it.

Back when I *was* watching TV regularly, my favorite shows included anything Star Trek, early seasons of the X-Files, MacGyver, and Babylon 5. Again, proof of my nerdhood.

  • Books

I've fallen greatly behind on my pleasure reading of late. Most of the pleasure reading I *have* been doing has been related to Star Wars and/or roleplaying.

Books I read before I fell behind include Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond; Entering Space by Robert Zubrin; and What Does a Martian Look Like? by Jack Cohen and Ian Stewart.

  • Heroes

There's something to be learned from everyone, good or bad.

About me:

I'm just this guy, you know?

I'm a recent graduate of California State University, Bakersfield, with a BA in Political Science.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life now that I've closed that particular chapter of it. In the meantime, I spend a lot of my spare time in front of a computer; they're remarkably addicting. I do sometimes escape it to read, watch TV, visit friends, or just get outdoors.

If you want to find out more about me, you can visit my website. No, it's not a camsite or crap like that, just your average run of the mill nerdy personal site that everyone had back in the day before they let Tom do all the work for them.

Who I'd like to meet:

Nobody. I've already met everyone in the whole wide world I'd ever want to meet.

Well, maybe not. ;-)

Seriously, I mostly use MySpace to keep in touch with people I already know; if I don't know you through some other means, there's a better-than-average chance I'm going to deny your friend request. However, if you DO know me from just about anywhere else, be you a current real-world friend, a long-lost school associate, or someone I know from one of my many online haunts, feel free to message me.

If you think you're the one who will be the exception to this rule, at the very least, you should message me first, and mention something specific about my profile in the process; otherwise, I'm likely to assume you're a bot on the prowl for a new webcam viewer or something, rather than a real human who actually wants to communicate with me.

I blame you for introducing me to the masquerade... I am a woman possessed! lol I have the fabric for my dress on order, picked out jewelry for it today, and am trying to lose 4" off my middle before I actually have to start sewing! This is insane but OMG I am so looking forward to it! I cannot wait! <-- I had to say all that because I'm sure everyone is already sick of hearing me talk about it, but I'm not ready to shut up yet... lol. :)

Hey, I'm excited to tell you that I just finished my first short film. I'm excited about this project because I wrote and produced all the music in the film, and it's already receiving great reviews, and lots of plays on YouTube. Please help me keep it moving up the charts. It would be so amazing if after you watch on YouTube, you give it a good rating, leave a comment, and most importantly, share it with all your friends. I need all the help I can get in moving it up the charts. I really believe that because of the feel good nature of this film, that it really does have the possibility of going viral. I realize that even with all the promotion I personally do myself, it still will not be enough unless others help me. :) ......... Thanks for helping spread the word.
Blessings in 2009 and beyond!! -Rob
