"Years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

Everything SCUBA from easy stuff like looking at the fishes to deep cave and wreck diving. If I'm not out diving, I'm out kayaking. If I'm not out kayaking or diving, I'm in a pool somewhere doing laps. Ya see a theme here I guess? Sailing, snorkeling, body boarding, it's all covered. Just don't put me in snow. Frozen water doesn't work for me. It's tough to do cannonballs in.
Ok, so I admit; I tried skiing finally and I liked it. Frozen water isn't so bad after all.
In my previous life when I lived on the OBX,I spent some time as a sailing and windsurfing instructor. Loved it!
I used to be a firefighter and medic and really miss it. Made it as far as Captain and have all kinds of awards on my that-a-boy-wall. I also enjoyed teaching fire stuff and First Aid and CPR.
Back in my Coast Guard days, I loved working with the local Aux crew, the CG volunteers. What a great bunch! I also had the opportunity to work with the local lifeguards. I worked part time for the Duck Surf Rescue crew and the Kitty Hawk Ocean Rescue crew. Ocean rescue sure is a lot different down here in Florida! These guys have it easy!
Music
Just about anything but rap and country. I'm more of a classic rock kind of guy with Zepplin, Floyd, and that era.
Movies
Looking forward to Shadow Divers!
Television
Not enough time to watch most of the crap on tv. Well, some crap is good. I like Rescue Me, The Unit, and a few other guy shows.
Books
I'm a survival nerd. Any non-fiction about disasters where people had to overcome major challenges. Sea stories are my favorite.

Finished up with the Coast Guard and am now in Florida with a civilian job. Love the job, but still adjusting to Florida. Tough move from the Outer Banks of NC to South Florida. Culture shock to say the least. No hablo espanol if you know what I mean.
I'm loving my job though down here in Fort Lauderdale. I get to play with all kinds of techie stuff.

Hey - the Hatteras Coasties took me out on Tuesday to throw some turtles in the ocean. I thought of you! You'll be glad to know that they were NOT able to make me puke.
