"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

What is left to do?

After being on top of the electronic music industry for more than a decade, what achievement outshines traveling the world performing in front of hundreds of thousands of people at venues like Red Rocks and 3-Com Stadium, remixing Madonna (twice), Paul Oakenfold (twice), Seal, Frank Sinatra (the first official estate commisioned electronic remix *EVER*), Johnny Cash, David Bowie, America, The Chemical Brothers, Iamx, Curve, Utah Saints, Fonzerelli, Super Mal, George Acosta, Taxi Doll, The Crystal Method, Delerium, BT, Keoki, Carl Cox & Markus Schulz? What could be more rewarding than being featured on MTV, and producing tracks for Sandra Collins, D:Fuse, and DJ Rap? What can you do to top mountains of critical and popular acclaim in magazines like Rolling Stone and URB, barely being edged out for a Grammy nomination and a Dance Star award, licensing tracks for films like Tomb Raider and Bad Boys II, television powerhouses such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and CSI, and spicing up video game soundtracks for Gran Turismo 4 and SSX 3?

You start all over again...

     J. Scott G's solo productions, Rocktronica bands (Summer Channel & White Line Allstars) and new record label (Libra Rising Recordings) are a direct answer to the continued enervation of the dance music industry that he helped impel as one half of seminal beat rockers Deepsky. As Rave culture enters its twilight and clubbers become jaded by mountains of listless deep-prog-idm-breakcore tunes, the party-going public has subconsciously clamored for something fresh and exciting with shrinking event attendance, drooping CD and record sales, and a palpable malaise about club nights once considered massive.

Enter J. Scott G.

What people are saying about J. Scott G. / Summer Channel

"J. Scott G. was the one who helped me get up and running right before we started Shiny Toy Guns. I have to give him some credit for this band even being around."

~ Jeremy Dawson - Shiny Toy Guns

"I'm a big fan of the voice of Fisher and and even bigger fan of all the old Deepsky productions. I played A Thousand miles on my radio show and it got amazing reviews from the trance massive. Watch this one as this could be your sound for the summer!"

~ Armin Van Buuren - 2008 DJ Mag no. 1 DJ in the World

"J. Scott G's writing talents speak for themselves. He is one of the most prolific high standard writers we know. His production work is pure quality and stands head and shoulders above most. He produces sonics that sound amazing in a club environment through his work with Summer Channel and previously with Deepsky. He definitely understands the dynamics of dance music."

~ Utah Saints

"J. Scott G. is a producer who is capable of getting anyone's attention purely through his production. Whenever his name is on a record, you know it will involve quality production, great structure and A LOT of thought. He's one of the few remaining people who understand this art."

~ Andy Moor

"Summer Channel's 'Soulmate in Every City' is a slammin track. Killer vocals, bad-ass synths and rocking guitars make this club banger go to the top of the list in my book ! Even the 'Lou Reed' sounding vocals really make it stand out from the rest."

~ Jason Nevins - Producer/Remixer (Pink, N.E.R.D., Run DMC)

"I really dig 'A Thousand Miles!' It works great on the radio and on the dance floor, killer track!"

~ Ken Jordan - The Crystal Method

“J. Scott G. is one of the guys still making music that was influencing all of us back in the days when people like Madonna were looking for remixes by underground producers. He embodies where dance music’s been, where we are, and where we’re going. Not too many producers continue to have that on their resumes these days.”

~ Shiloh

"J. Scott G. is forward thinking... on point, cutting edge and never cheesy. Brilliant!"

~ Swedish Egil - Grooveradio

"J. Scott G. is a great programmer and musician, with an ear for quality and sophistication. Summer Channel songs like 'A Thousand Miles' prove this once again."

~ Rhys Fulber - Delerium/Conjure One

"J. Scott G. is devoted to energizing the music scene with whatever project he is involved in, and Summer Channel is no exception. Fortunately there will always be room in the world for great grooves and great songs..."

~ Tim Ryan - CEO/Owner M-Audio

"J. Scott G is one of my favorite people to collaborate with. He is sensitive to the song and the lyric's as well as the production. I am very excited about Summer Channel and all his new music. He truly has his finger on the pulse!"

~ Jes - Motorcycle

"J. Scott G is one of the most talented and passionate producers that i have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and what he has put into Summer Channel only goes to show how gifted he really is."

~ Flipper Dalton - Producer/Remixer (The Prodigy, P. Diddy, Sascha)

Scott,

I wanted to publicly state how happy I am about our professional collaborations. With you and Kevin131 at my side, I am beginning to get traction on our tracks I could have only dreamed of (and was) a year ago, months before we met through a series of fortunate events.

I received this review of Rain Dance a little while ago on my page by a gorgeous, talented singer named Raquel, who will also be featuring me on her women's tribute page.

This I couldn't keep to myself. I consider it for all 3 of us. This is her review on CDBaby:

"Janice Kephart poetry, obviously, and to great effect, inspires J. Scott G. and Kevin Gutierrez, who take great care to be an awesome canvas for her lovely words. A sea of gorgeous techno beats. This is an energetic way to communicate poetry, and most of all, it is inspiring to hear artists pair their work in new, creative ways. I support this effort as an artist myself, and also ENJOY this effort. I really revel in the rain dance and highly recommend this adventure in expression to all who love dance music and poetry. Beautiful!"

So I decided to venture to a club here in Dallas the other night that I very rarely frequent, and I heard some badass breaks while walking in from outside. For some reason, I didn't bother to check the flyers or ask anyone who was spinning, yet went out to find the source of the music. You were jamming out on stage, and I was thinking, "Man, that bald motherfucker looks REAAAAAAAAALLY familiar, and is spinning some badass shit. Could it be . . .? Naaaaaah." But then I had to check, and it WAS you! I felt like such an ignorant ass after I found out. Twas quite a mindblowin set, I might add.
