"Here's To The Crazy Ones..." T-Shirt!

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels.
The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square
holes. The ones who see things differently. They're
not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the
status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them,
glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do
is ignore them. Because they change things. They push
the human race forward. And while some may see them
as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people
who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,
are the ones who do."

When was the last time you ruled a crowd? How long has it been since roses were cast at your feet? Have you ever walked into a packed restaurant and been escorted to the best table by a stunned maitre'd? Ever sauntered up to the bar and owned the blonde six chairs down just by the way you tilt your head? Can you even begin to imagine what she would do to you if only you would let her?

J. Scott G. can.

This is his life, and it unfolds like God's origami. Each crease hides some new twist waiting to be revealed to fans hungry for the next big thing. His pursuits, having carried him around the world touring with the legendary Deepsky, have danced all around the vast arena of music's many styles. From insightful, vocal-driven grooves with Summer Channel to the rocking, near-metal force of the Whiteline Allstars, to his own dance floor stormers, Scott has displayed a necessary ferocity of purpose and disregard for rules. Some people defy convention. J Scott G. lays waste to it.

Madonna knows. Seal knows. World-class weirdo David Bowie knows. Those who have been worked over in the studio by J. Scott G. have always been ecstatic about the results, sometimes frighteningly so. It was rumored that Madonna's camp was going to ditch the single release of “Hollywood” until it got a dive bomb style treatment from Scott. That outcome was in stark contrast to the Bowie debacle, which never made it all the way to the public - strangely, though, the central female figure in that series of accusations lost all credibility when she turned to starring in hardcore pornography after a week in Barbados with Scott and the Assembly Line Studios crew. Assembly Line Studios recently earned it’s first Platinum record for work on the Twilight Soundtrack.

Tucked securely away somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area, Assembly Line Studios West is doppleganger to Whiteline Allstar Kevin 131’s D.C. based camp. The left coast has often been a campground for J. Scott G., but travel to exotic locales is never out of the question. He will disappear for days, sometimes weeks at a stretch, and reappear with new scars and new sounds. To see him unpack is a bit unnerving - somehow, upon return, his suitcase is overstuffed with women's underwear (not in his size) and odd metal canisters with the faint aroma of sunscreen and vodka. This level of jet-setting would drive many to distraction, but Scott handles it all with aplomb; in fact, the schedule only seems to drive him harder - By his own account, Scott rarely sleeps more than two or three hours a night and still maintains the energy to push forward on public and private fronts.

And so the sound continues. Several projects are ramping up for Scott, with a new Summer Channel album in the works. Co-writing and production finished on the new Soul In The Machine record, and buzz hovers about a collaboration with 2009 American Idol - Adam Lambert, that should blow everyone away and set fire to the stagnating world of pop music. Look to the future for excitement. Look to the past for mystery. Look to J. Scott G. for the sound.

"An incredible collaborator! A razor sharp producer and a gentleman. J. Scott G. is a star!"

~Adam Lambert - American Idol

"Scott and I were close friends way before Shiny Toy Guns. We had a vision and were lacking the know how and sample library to take the rock sound into the dance world. J. Scott G. invited us over for a 48 hour session and gave us the tools. A few months later, we produced "Le Disko," built on his soundscapes and rock sensibility. If there was no J. Scott G., there would be no Shiny Toy Guns."

~ Jeremy Dawson - Shiny Toy Guns

"I'm a big fan of the voice of Fisher and and even bigger fan of all the old Deepsky productions. I played A Thousand miles on my radio show and it got amazing reviews from the trance massive. Watch this one as this could be your sound for the summer!"

~ Armin Van Buuren

"J. Scott G's writing talents speak for themselves. He is one of the most prolific high standard writers we know. His production work is pure quality and stands head and shoulders above most. He produces sonics that sound amazing in a club environment through his work with Summer Channel and previously with Deepsky. He definitely understands the dynamics of dance music."

~ Utah Saints

"From his production chops when he was in Deepsky, to his current day floor-fillers, J. Scott G's tracks sit firmly on the cutting edge"

~ Klayton - Celldweller

"I can't stand that 'boom boom boom' racket!!! Back in my day we used to bang on rocks with other rocks and sing along whilst walking 45 miles thru snow, uphill, both ways. But we certainly weren't up all night doing it! Bah!"

~ Old Woman from 4B

"Summer Channel's 'Soulmate in Every City' is a slammin track. Killer vocals, bad-ass synths and rocking guitars make this club banger go to the top of the list in my book ! Even the 'Lou Reed' sounding vocals really make it stand out from the rest."

~ Jason Nevins

"J. Scott G. is a producer who is capable of getting anyone's attention purely through his production. Whenever his name is on a record, you know it will involve quality production, great structure and A LOT of thought. He's one of the few remaining people who understand this art."

~ Andy Moor

"I really dig 'A Thousand Miles!' It works great on the radio and on the dance floor, killer track!"

~ Ken Jordan - The Crystal Method

"Scott is one of the most talented and passionate producers that i have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and what he has put into Summer Channel only goes to show how gifted he really is."

~ Marc Mitchell

"Scott is, by far, one of the most gifted producers out there. From Deepsky to Summer Channel, to his latest Soul in the Machine collaborations. I always trust that his productions will step it up a notch and command respect, each and EVERY time!"

~ Curtis Fallis - Burufunk

“Scott is one of the guys still making music that was influencing all of us back in the days when people like Madonna were looking for remixes by underground producers. He embodies where dance music’s been, where we are, and where we’re going. Not too many producers continue to have that on their resumes these days.”

~ Shiloh

"J. Scott G. is forward thinking... on point, cutting edge and never cheesy. Brilliant!"

~ Swedish Egil

"J. Scott G. is a great programmer and musician, with an ear for quality and sophistication. Summer Channel songs like 'A Thousand Miles' prove this once again."

~ Rhys Fulber - Delerium/Conjure One

"Scott is devoted to energizing the music scene with whatever project he is involved in, and Summer Channel is no exception. Fortunately there will always be room in the world for great grooves and great songs..."

~ Tim Ryan - CEO/Owner M-Audio

"J. Scott G is one of my favorite people to collaborate with. He is sensitive to the song and the lyric's as well as the production. I am very excited about Summer Channel and all his new music. He truly has his finger on the pulse!"

~ Jes - Motorcycle

"Scott is one of the most talented and passionate producers that i have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and what he has put into Summer Channel only goes to show how gifted he really is."

~ Flipper Dalton

The trick is to stay focused on what you want to happen and let go of what you do not... cuz if you keep seeing things as they are, convincing yourself that you "have to" because that's reality, then it will always be your reality. want to change? it's as simple as changing the who, what, how, why and when of what you look at and FOCUS on... DAILY :)

Tankism #25 Have a great week :)
PS: see if you can "see" the picture below. It's pretty cool...

"People are afraid, very much afraid of those who know themselves. They have a certain power, a certain aura and a certain magnetism, a charisma that can take out alive, young people from the traditional imprisonment.... The enlightened man cannot be enslaved - that is the difficulty - and he cannot be imprisoned.... Every genius who has known something of the inner is bound to be a little difficult to be absorbed; he is going to be an upsetting force. The masses don't want to be disturbed, even though they may be in misery; they are misery, but they are accustomed to the misery. And anybody who is not miserable looks like a stranger. The enlightened man is the greatest stranger in the world; he does not seem to belong to anybody. No organization confines him, no community, no society, no nation." -Osho-
