Everything. I listen to a lot of metal and classical...Iron Maiden, Manowar, Ozzy, Wagner, Prokofiev, Vivaldi.... I also love musical theatre, that probably influences me somehow too.
The books I read...sci fi/fantasy - HG Wells, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams...
Films... Lord of the Rings influenced a big piece I did for uni. I pretty much always have the tv on, watching a film or comedy or sci-fi shows....I find they influence me and I don’t realise it until I’ve finished.
I graduated last year from Salford with a music degree. I'm looking at doing a Masters in music or theatre, but for now I'm just working (less than I should considering I have 3 jobs), and composing occasionally (not as often as I'd like).
REMIX - SECONDS OF SILENCE - Newest song is a remix I did for the music tech module at uni. Lee Sharp wrote and performed the original piano piece (check out his myspace: http://www.myspace.com/lgsharp). I added the flute, recorder, weird noises and recorded Sarah Buckley (http://www.myspace.com/thesarahbtrio) reading the Shakespeare bits in the studios at Adelphi (Salford uni). I like it very much :) It was put together in pretty much the last week or so at uni, when I realised "Oh fuck...I've only done half the Music Tech assignments...." :D
BUT IT'S STILL SUMMER - Christmassy sounding peace that I wrote in the middle of July. I need to fix the balance between the violins, I think the melody is too quiet/the other violin is too loud.
ADELAAR - Song about a warrior going to avenge his fathers death, only to be killed by the man who killed his father. Unfortunately I haven't got around to recording it properly (hence the lack of lyrics and the awesome midi sounds).
yo yo yo s'up[ in da hood dawg, hanging left in yo dishers? Nahhhhh! in it up da shizney oh dawg me'now.
have no idea what that means but wanted to say hi and i think if you translate all that from skally it mean "Hello, hope you're well. hope to see you soon. Kim"
May be another year before I'm online again but wanted to stop in. xx
