Born with music running through her veins, Jessica Lynn Silva aka J.Silva, is a triple threat! Singer, songwriter, and dancer, J.Silva, born in August of 1989, has been singing since she could speak and writing since she learned to write. She hails from a musical household where her dad played guitar, mother sings, and older brother sings, produces, and plays guitar. .... While J.Silva was in elementary school, she used to get her girlfriends together and pretend to be a singing group. During summer break, they would put a karaoke machine on the porch and sing TLC songs, and Jessica pretended she was Chili. During her junior year in high school, she failed chorus twice because of stage fright. Her music teacher would try to get her to sing notes by herself, but she was too scared. Deep inside, Jessica knew life had bigger plans for her, so she took control, got over her stage fright and pushed forward! .... Jessica’s first performance in front of an audience was at a local karaoke bar near her house. She performed “I Don’t Wanna Cry,” by Mariah Carey. She would perform every chance she could get, even entering a music competition in which the grand prize was $25,000. As everyone was singing cover songs, J.Silva opted to sing an original. It seemed as if Jessica was going to be the winner after 3 rounds of being on top, but she was disqualified for being under 21. That experience made Jessica even more determined because even though she was disqualified, it could not be denied that the crowd was feeling her. .... J.Silva enrolled in college to become a paramedic, but she felt she was settling for less than her dream, so she dropped out. She spent whatever money she earned to buy recording equipment and set up a home studio. She recorded her first song, “Thinking of You.” She then knew her passion was music and was determined to find a way. At the age of 21 she coincidentally meet up with an old friend. He introduced Jessica to radio DJ, producer & songwriter, Naki The Beatman. They instantly hit it off and began recording shortly there after. .... J.Silva recorded her response to Jaime Foxx’s hit “Blame It”, titled “No Love.” She sent the remix to DJs nationally, to get her name out there. She followed up with her version to Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”, and it was quickly added to mixshows and mixtapes across the country! Jessica recently released her first mixtape, “Canvas Music,” which had over 100 downloads in less than 24 hours and no promotion on datpiff.com. She just wrapped up the Chicago Public School tour which helped motivate kids to stay in school and show them how hard work and dedication makes dreams come true. She has also performed with national recording artist K’Jon, 3 Piece, as well as other premier talent. .... J Silva is currently finishing up her debut EP “NOTEBOOK HEAD”, which will be available on itunes and other online music stores. She is building a strong fan base. Her myspace page currently has over 500,000 plays and is growing daily.
