I like to crochet. It's my latest artistic release and obsession. The fact that I can make an entire garment out of loops in one continuous strand amazes me. Unfortunately, I've been neglecting my piano, which has since become covered in freaking paperwork. I need to fix that.

I'm not very good at pretenses. If I think you're cool, I'm liable to tell you so. If I think you're fun to talk to, I'm liable to try to start a conversation with you. I know small talk has its place in the world of conversation, but I also know that while patience is a virtue, life is too short to waste on pretenses. I suppose they have their place as well, but typically if there is a goal that may be obtained by use of pretense, I'd just as much rather do something that doesn't involve it.

I love bats. I think they're adorable. Yes, I've seen them in person, and yes, I think they are all the cuter as such.

When I was a child, I liked to play with giant fake bugs.

I'm still really amused by things that change colors and glow in the dark, and to some extent I am still in love with neon.

I don't like large bodies of water, especially at night, because I can't see what's under the surface and I know that the bigger the body of water is, the bigger the things that live in it are. I've swam in the ocean, and I've gone boating and swimming in the middle of large lakes, but it's always in the back of my mind.

I have a lot of hobbies and a limited attention span, so I'm not great with correspondence. I love talking to people, but I'm easily distracted, and there's only so much of my time and attention to go around. I wish I could spread it around evenly between all my friends, pets, plants, hobbies, household chores, and that necessity we call a job, as well as allocating time for sleep and eventually schooling...but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work that way. I figure my best bet is to eventually work out a way to choose a hobby or a group of hobbies that I won't tire of and get a degree that will allow me to successfully pursue a career in that field.

I do drink; I don't do shots. I don't like light beer.

I would date a guy who smokes a pipe before I would date a guy who smokes cigarettes.

I don't have any taste aversions.

I know how to stop my own hiccups with concentration and control of my diaphragm.

I don't like sneaker clogs.

I forget my own age sometimes, but remember conversations word for word.

I'm picky about my clothes, but typically I don't care if it's designer or I found it at a thrift store. For that matter, I would probably prefer the shirt found at the thrift store because it comes with built in character and I don't freak out as much if something spills on it.

I dislike stubborn people. There is a certain extent to which one should hold one's ground, but there's a fine line between holding your ground and being a self-centered asshole. If you insist on holding your ground completely on every single minor issue regardless of what a pain in the ass it is to people you actually care about, and you have no good reason as to why you are doing so...it makes you an asshole, and it shows the people to which you do it that you don't respect them.

I will try not to annoy you to the point of anger and retribution if you will do the same for me.

Sometimes I spend too much on craft supplies.

I think German is a beautiful language.

Sometimes I listen to the Rammstein albumSonne when I have trouble sleeping. It almost always works, but I need to find another album with this capability because I'm afraid I'm going to finally get tired of it.

Anyone who can figure out what the hell happens at the end of this video gets free bonus points. My money's on him landing in the water or something, just for the fact that him DYING seems a little bit, well, DARK, for how freaking cute the rest of the movie is. Regardless. This is one of the cutest things I've seen online in a long time.
