About me:

Hello, I'm Jay.

I was born and raised and currently live in Fort Dodge Iowa. I like it here. I don't know why, some may even call me crazy, but dirty dodge is my home.

I graduated from Saint Edmond High School in the year 2000. That was neat. I guess. Nothing really happened but the fat graduation money was awesome!

I spent the next five years attending Iowa Central Community College. Yes, it is a two year college but I took my sweet time. The first three years are kind of a blur. I did graphic design. I don't really like graphic design and thought since I liked drawing it would be the same--not so much. BUT I realized this a little to late and decided that I should finish off the degree I was only half a semester from finishing it.

The next two years would change my life. I joined up with the broadcasting program. 88.1 the point became my second home. I wasn't interested in radio really but it seemed fun, my best friend was already in the program, so why not try right? Best choice I ever made. I was someone who had a studder growing up so radio seemed odd, but it worked. Opposites attract I guess. I made some amazing friends and really grew up in those two years. I think I really became who I am today when I was on 88. I loved that place. I met some great friends then. We were all pretty tight with each other and became family. Disfunctional as shit but a family none the less.

To graduate in broadcasting you need an internship. So I had mine at KKEZ 94.5. It was strange recording my shift the first time but it seemed right I guess. That was in 2004 and I currently am still there. I've worked with Jane E Morgan(the meanest mom on the planet) and Lindy Kaye almost everyday from then on and I have learned a lot. I'm pretty Jackassy on the air. My shifts are never perfect but neither am I so it works out. I'm on Monday trough Friday 10am until 3 on Mix and then I'm on 99X from 3pm-7! Stay tuned from what I hear I could be on a few more before to long!

In September of 2007 I took a job Iowa Central. That job was running the broadcasting program. Its crazy a job but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I run 88 now, I actually get paid to be at 88...it really is like a dream job for me. Its a really hard job. I spend half my day at Iowa Central and the other half at KKEZ. It makes for some long days, but really its not bad. I mean I'm not doing construction like my dad or dealing with daycare kids like my mom and Shanna(Fiance) so why am I so tired?! Oh well.

Other than that I live with my Fiance Shanna, I take back my statement earlier--moving in with Shanna is the best decision I've ever made. I'm pretty laid back and like to make people laugh. I've always liked doing that. I'm in a wheelchair but I don't dwell on it, I just kind of ignore it. its not a big deal to me at all. Unless I'm on grass or next to stairs. I hate Stairs and Grass. And Oprah but that is a story all it's own.
