I started playing acoustic guitar when I was 8, and that lasted through the summer, until I got bored of learning what a piano teacher thought guitar lessons should be. I picked up a bass at age 14 and moved to guitar at 15 after hearing Randy Rhoads, feeling I could express myself better with 6 strings rather than 4 (I still love playing bass though). I picked up bits and pieces from everyone that was an influence, even if it was for a brief amount of time, and I think my style reflects that; I sound like me-a mish mash of everything that I have been able to pick up over the years. I think I fall somewhere between the roots of the 70's riff-rock, to a huge bunch of the 80's, and even a touch of the 90's and the present. Randy Rhoads was, is, will always be my favorite guitarist ever, and my biggest musical inspiration. Although I don't play totally like Randy, I pray to God you can hear him in there somewhere when you hear me play. My current gear of choice would be Gibson Historic Les Paul Customs (68 and 57), Diezel and Mesa-Boogie Amps, as well as Custom 4 x 12 speaker cabs loaded w/WGS speakers. There is no substitute for killer tone and gear.
