Purchase SINNIN' IN THE RAIN from LULU.com

"Love the Weird! Probe it often enough, deeply enough and eventually you will hit the Jackpot!" Terence Mckenna

"To seek freedom is the only driving force i know. Freedom to fly off into that infinity out there. Freedom to dissolve; to lift off; to be like the flame of a candle, which, in spite of being up against the light of a billion stars, remains intact, because it never pretended to be more than what it is: a mere candle." Don Juan (Carlos Castaneda)

"Apparently there is a great discovery or insight which our culture is deliberately designed to supress, distort and ignore. That is that Nature is some kind of minded entity. That Nature is not simply the random flight of atoms through electromagnetic fields. Nature is not the empty, despiritualized lumpen matter that we inherit from modern physics. But it is instead a kind of intelligence, a kind of mind." Terence Mckenna

APRIL 2009 - The cruelest month, for many has proven to be true to its literary cliche. Still working on new songs. The new Collection, now tentatively called SHINE, is still taking shape... in some new directions and turns. "Big Lizard's Blues" started off as a doodle. Just something i was playing around with on the computer. Then I started layering in those guitar tracks and spent a few weeks diddling with it off and on.... and finally said, "huh." and declared it finished... sort of.
I am also pretty happy with the song "Flowers" which i posted here some weeks ago. The lyrics for this are very old and were originally written, merely as lyrics to a guitar melody, with no real biographical nature. But now, some 20 years later, having experienced many situations I could never have known so early in my days, I have found the lyrics to ring especially true to me. Perhaps you can hear what I mean. I hope you dig it.

Are you Merovingian? We should go have coffee...

SINNIN IN THE RAIN represents a long birthing process. Most of the tunes originated a decade earlier, while performing at weekly songwriter open mics in Austin Tx. Through the years these songs have taken various forms until they were tucked away and rarely heard from anymore. In late 2005, I began dusting off these old "standards" of mine, as well as a number of fragments and a few more-recent lyrics here and there... using Apple's Garageband, I started cramming it all together on my Mac, until I had built a fairly complete little song-cycle. These songs are about all sorts of things. There are characters who sometimes lie to you. There are others who bare their souls, in the bloodiest of fashion. There's some Folk, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Trip-Hop, Rock-Opera, Bluegrass, Country... often rolled together.
I hope you enjoy something you find here... and come on back any ol' time!
