JT, aka 'JTronius', is an old soul with an incredible vibe, implausible stage presence, a verydistinct look and sound, and a smashing band to match. Originally from Texas, JT relocated to Boston, MA in 1997. Driven by his raw talent and his love of music, he attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music and graduated with a degree in music business/management in 2002. While at Berklee, JT met and collaborated with a group of 5 talented songwriters and musicians to form the R&B group JT & The Dirty Truth. A mixture of funky rhythms and soulful vocals, the group's funkadelic sound is reminiscent of such musical greats as George Clinton and Sam Cooke. From 2000-2003, JT performed with the
world music/hip-hop group, III Kings, sharing the stage with some of the hottest artists in the industry including Damian Marley, Busta Rhymes, The Roots, Talib Kweli, and N.E.R.D. He is featured on Canadian hip-hop trio, Fineprint's, latest album being sold internationally on Itunes and in major music stores in Tokyo, Japan. He also has appeared in several collaborative projects with well-known international DJ's including DJ Tonk and DJ Kou. JT has written songs and hooks for many local and international acts including Anonymous from Project Move, Soulution from Amsterdam, RAP Squad, Agari Crew, Soultron, Bwiz, and more.
Not one to limit his talents to just music, JT has appeared in independent films including 'Roid Rage' and '12', and was a member of the fictional NFL team 'The Boston Rebels' in the major motion picture 'The Game Plan' featuring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Morris Chestnut and Rosalyn Sanchez. Be sure to also be on the look out for JT's appearances in 'The Lonely Maiden' featuring Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken as well as 'Real Men Cry' featuring Ethan Hawke. He has also appeared on the MTV show 'My Super Sweet 16', in the music video for 'Carmen & Camille' on virtual MTV, and on Vimby.com. JT is an ardent supporter of local talent in all of its forms and is currently outfitted by up and coming fashion designer Conrad Lamour.

THE DIARY Volume 1.5 (20 Years of the Remix) now available for free download at WWW.MUSICOFSUBSTANCE.COM!
“This CD just shows how much Chris Read knows about historic Hip Hop production techniques - Its just a shame he wasn't creating this stuff during the eras he's covering as we would probably rate the man as being up there with Paul C, Pete Rock, Premier and all! - I can't think of another Hip Hop CD I've played so much in years” (ANDY SMITH - PORTISHEAD)
"Chris continues the rap anthology concept of his super-dope 'The Diary' megamix in the shape of a remix project, re-lacing acapellas from 89-2009 with historically accurate beats. 'The Diary 1.5' serves as a great platform for Chris to showcase his ample beat-making skills whilst referencing those who've inspired him." (DJ WOODY - FORMER WORLD ITF CHAMPION)
“Wicked! The perfect companion to The Diary Mixtape. Shows an impressive knowledge of sounds from all eras.” (MR THING - FORMER WORLD DMC CHAMPION)
"Crazy! This is Rap History in the making. Chris proves his production skills on this one to the fullest. A wonderful and refreshing journey through all eras of hip hop. Double thumbs up!" (MARC HYPE - FORMER ITF CHAMPION)
