Poetstock 2009!
Never before has this been done, and hopefully it will be successfully repeated after this all over the world, again and again….
Our aim is to bring together poets from all over, who produce all
genres of poetry for a night of mingling, poetry, shameless self
promotion…. Each poet will have the poetry to read their work on
stage, sell their work to those who would like to buy, and mingle with
the best poets of our generation.
It will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 9 PM at STUDIO PARK; 1519 Carroll Dr
Atlanta, GA 30318-3605
And the owner of STUDIO PARK in Atlanta has been gracious enough to open his doors to us without charging us ANYTHING!!!
Guys, you seriously CAN’T miss this~you HAVE to be there! It is the
chance of the lifetime, and the bigger we make it, the more attention
we poets will get.
Poetry is NOT dead~let’s show the world that it is living and breathing~
Don’t forget to bring your Books, CDs and/or original artwork to sell!
***BTW~we are looking for a talented DJ to spin between reads~so if you
have what it takes or know someone who does, please email me.
****ALL are welcome! Whether you are a poet, or love poetry, we hope
you will all come, tell your friends about it, and your friends’
friends-blog it, bulletin it, email it, scream about it from the
rooftops~Whatever it takes!!!
To celebrate the completion of my second poetry book, Worn Pajamas, I will be offering my first book, Life Inside Pajamas: A Poetic Look at Modern Society, as a FREE download. Just my way of saying thanks for the support over the years. Check out my blog for info how to download.
“Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.” -- Bill Cosby
"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." -- Frederick Keonig
“…If I were outspoken, would my words sound louder when read from being written down? I write down thoughts profound all the time in spirals lying around on grounds nearby pens. Inside arms, one length and two tries, I find enough energy to supply random accounts on papers never again seen because I’m often seen busy hoping. Hoping words written will always make a sound when someone reads them...silently. I’m hoping once, as I walk away, I’ll hear them calling me directly to where they make a speech while a stranger reads what was in me only moments ago. I hope for someone else to know my spiral’s straight talk without trying to twist it when theirs is thought to be crooked.
But maybe, if I were outspoken, some would stick to what they heard because I’d be pushing it to ask someone to listen…”

“If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies.” -- Nadine Stair
