my music evolves from ideas that sit with me for weeks at a time and most often just spill out onto the page in short bursts. it's an ecclectic combination of my voice, classical strings, earthy percussion and intricate piano and guitars. i love live sounds and energy and use it as much as possible in the recording process. i've been writing from a very young age and tend to write poetically rather than commercially, though these things are beginning to sit hand in hand.
i've performed alongside musicians like evermore (in new york), tyrone noonan, jon stevens, jon auer (USA), hawksley workman (canada), teddy thompson (usa) clare bowditch and the feeding set, kate miller-heidke and have performed in california, new york and all over australia. my music moves from acoustic to pop rock, also vocal sessions for electronic music producers.
my main music influences are jeff buckley, madonna, alanis morissette, george, elixir, kenny's window, coldplay, elbow, sarah mclachlan, hildegard von bingen, kronos quartet, ute lemper, and lots lots more. my main writing influences are virginia woolf, jeanette winterson, sylvia plath and micheal cunningham. i see myself as a writer who happens to be a musician, words for me are a puzzle to piece together for each and every song.
other things about me are that i love the wilderness, yoga, travelling, live music, reading, my lovely home environment and my daughter, Silver.
