Judge Head, otherwise known as simply The Judge or The Most Sexual Judge Head, is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and wannabe metal overlord operating under the FBTR umbrella. His collaborators include guitarist John Paul Barnes II and percussonist/antagonist Fwank. Although originally a 'band' with his FBTR comrades, The Judge now operates largely as a quote-unquote 'solo artist', pushing a kind of noise pitched somewhere between industrial, disco and death metal. Lazily, he and his comrades have dubbed this genre 'ninja metal', in honour of their debut track, 'We Are Ninjas', and their insistence on referring to themselves as 'Sexual Ninjas'. Lyrically, The Judge likes to write about apocalypse, deviant sexual acts, obsession, brutality and occasionally love in all its twisted guises.
Having cut his teeth on the classics as a young boy, playing French Horn for about seven years, the Judge spent his mid-teens listening to early '90s commercial techno such as Haddaway and Urban Cookie Colelctive, moving on to the likes of Peter Gabriel and The Police before an Xmas gift in the form of Bon Jovi's Cross Road turned him into a certifiable guitar nerd and pop tart. Emotional retardation followed quickly. He spent the next few years fielding ridiculous band names such as Iron And Blood, Supremacy, Untitled, Lieutenant Dan & The Corporal's Wings, and Blue Flame, playing U2, Doors and Verve covers and learning to play keyboards.
After a two-year period of pure Guns N' Roses and Metallica worship, during which he wrote many ridiculous lyrics, he got turned back on to alternative pop guitar styles from players such as The Edge and Andy Sumners. In university he discovered alt-rock and industrial metal in the shape of Marilyn Manson, Rage Against The Machine and Deftones, whilst simultaneously embracing commercial nu-metal such as Linkin Park. Future times would see a swing towards ambient techno and disco-rock, including Electrix Six, coupled with the more extreme sounds of Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot and Fear Factory. This eclectic mix of influences has left him with no idea as to what kind of sound he's looking for, as well as fucking up his mind something shocking.
Nowadays, the Judge blends his affection for bubblegum pop choruses and jackhammer industrial beats to the goth stylings of early Lacuna Coil and HIM, shot through with the blackened nihilism of bands such as Emperor, Cannibal Corpse and Satyricon - though when pushed he will admit to being a 'nu-metal and emo loving wuss', with bands such as MCR and Fightstar a fixture of his listening tastes. In order to somehow avoid his largely deviant and psychotic output from corrupting his 'real life', and also to 'get in character', he likes to wear a custom black-and-white faceplate when recording or performing. Lately, it doesn't seem to be working particularly well. His current project is an apocalyptic, sexually deviant and somewhat tongue-in-cheek concept album, entitled 'Control The Chaos'. Originally slated for release around Christmas 2006, the album has been delayed due to the Judge undergoing nerve surgery, and having made an adequate recovery he hopes to have the album out by early 2007.
