I love many traditions of music. Some of my greatest influences are singer/songwriters including Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Smokey Robinson, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Duke, Chick Corea, and Rachelle Ferrell. I love the gospel greats such as Vanessa Bell Armstrong, the Clark Sisters, Shirley Caesar, and the Winans. Classical music has also had a very deep impact on my life. I love studying the music of J.S. Bach, Igor Stravinsky, Frederic Chopin, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Aram Khachaturian, Vaughan Williams, Aaron Copland, and Leonard Bernstein.

I grew up in a family of musicians and studied every form of music I could get my hands on. Hi Judith, I was looking for a video copy of your solo performance of "Man in the Mirror" from Access Hollywood but haven't found one. I did find the performance from the Lopez Tonight Show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mxPWgsbBRM That song made an impact on me when I heard it in the late 80's, so I have a special fondness of the message it shares.
