Judith Lam's love for music has a long history. This Edmonton native's life-time of classical training in piano, violin and singing shows through in her unique talent. Judith's voice takes on a myriad of qualities and moods, and her vocal training enables her natural talent to shine through in diverse and beautiful ways. From musical theatre to art songs to opera, Judith has sung through it all. In her own songs, Judith takes elements from the music she has trained in to create her own voice. Judith grew up as a talented poet and writer as well. Her songwriting is the quintessential union between music and words, and her equal talent in both is evident in her songs. What is most striking about Judith next to her talent is her heart. She is an artist who is devoted not only to music, but to the betterment of society. Judith could be classified as a musical activist, using her talents for causes of homelessness, child poverty, and prison. Being involved with Compassion Canada as a Child Advocate, the Women's Reintegration Chaplaincy and the Edmonton Coalition on Housing and Homelessness have moved Judith to perform and write not only to express herself, but as a vehicle to raise awareness for social justice. Judith's distinctive folk/rock music, enchanting voice, and passion for the global community makes her an artist that stands out.
