| General | I make 2d images, and see myself primarily as a painter, mostly in oil,
but also in acrylic.
Like most painters I also draw. The ball point ben is my primary medium here,
Because when you're in a bar they don't cut you off when you ask for a pen, but they do if you ask for vine charcoal ;-) But sometimes I need the more flexibility and resort to mixing charcoal, ink, water color and gesso, with what ever else thrown in as needed.
I'v also started to explore generating images entirely digitaly using Corel Painter.

What interests me is using the inter-action of line, color and value to create an environment that has a resonance with the viewer, and then using that resonance to communicate the juicy heart.
I'm influenced by Kathe Kolliwitz, Degas, Mucha, Williams, Diebenkorn, Bacon, Freud, Blake, Monet, Vermeer, the Paleolithc fucks, Bellows, the Buddhist Gandharan art, any one in Juxtapoz. Participating in life,and getting others to particepate, is the hub of my art. Currently I'm working on a series of portraits, to better understand facial structure, skin tones, how clothing records the movement of the body, and, of course, the mysteries paint. The knowledge gained in this series I'll apply to a series of salsa dancing, invoking the cliche of dance as a metaphor of particiption in life. When I'm not in the studio I can often be found in a local cafe or bar with friends trying to grasp the lost art of conversation. On my free evenings I like dancing, going to a show or the above mentioned bars and cafes.
