Soul-Junk, Danielson, Joy Electric, Mewithoutyou, George MacDonald's 'The Golden Key' and others. Shane Claiborne's hopeful words, the entire canon of Fraggle Rock, Seseme Street's fuzzy hold on my childhood, as well as Fred Roger's eternally soft, gentle voice.
Sounds Like
You, when you were little, running up the stairs with your new toy, leaping into the air, and dissolving for a second into purified joy. A sheep floating overhead smiling down on you a second before he dissapears in a puff of laughter, things like that.
The Landfill R.I.P. Long Live the Landfill. Our favorite shows and moments in our bands history were at The Landfill, our hearts ache to know it has closed, but we will be apart of its eventual resurfacing. Look up, look out.
Beneath our bubbling, gurgling, micro-beats, beneath our synthesized, blue and red skin, beneath the sky of our song, and the stars of our words, lies our true hearts. Our true selves. We are reaching backwards, we are recalling old memories. We are allowing ourselves to slowly unlearn what the adult world has taught us. Through child-song, and child-dance we hope to spark joy, freedom, and love, and perhaps if we are very lucky, light up the eyes of a child. Look back and remember, look in and remember. Look. .........................................

OLD TIME RELIJUN!!! I am so excited about this. Old Time Relijun is a band that was born in Olympia, Washington, in 1995 and has been released ever since on the legendary "K Records" label (yes, the same label whose symbol Kurt Cobain tattooed on his forearm). But don't think of them as essentially nineties: this band stuck out like a sore, bleeding thumb from their contemporaries back then and they've only grown and transformed ever since. Too psychotic to be clearly categorized within punk or hardcore, Old Time Relijun plays an wildly energetic and fun and danceable ecstatic frenzy that is as close to noise as it is to some kind of Gypsy/Klezmer/South American hybrid. Singer Arrington De Dionyso screams and wails in Portuguese and Spanish and Italian as well as English. I've been listening to them for a while but I've never seen them live and word is, they're way better live than on their CDs. So check it.
Ian Downey Is Famous The Grievants
A couple of punk bands, sort of... or bands that refuse punk as much as anything else, or something.
Hey it's Kate just using my daughters myspace. How r u guys doin? U never called me back last summer and I obviously havent done too hot calling u back either!!! Hope to hear from you soon!
Oh, I have one. It's from the Syracuse show. I'm working on re-mastering it for the summer.
Thanks again for asking me to play on the 11th, and like I said, I'm really sorry I can't do it. Definitely keep me posted about future shows there, though. And let me know if you need a hand band-hunting for that. Peace, Tim Avery <><
Rough Remix #1 of Burning Star is up (my page). To liven things up, a contest is in order. I have a crisp new $10 bill (crispness may vary) for the person who makes the best remix/cover of a Jujajuba song. Tom & Cori will be the judges. Deadline to be posted by Tom & Cori as well (that's right, my money, Tom & Cori decide who it goes to).
