Rusty
Rusty started playing music at age seventeen in prison while doing a stint for a weapons possession charge. It was with the great prison-yard bands of Bucks County, Ashton and Burkes Central Penitentiaries that Rusty cut his teeth. "You had to learn to play everything. Fiddle, banjo, harp, washboard with equal skill", says Rusty while recounting his early days. "If you couldn't keep up, you were seen as weak and girly and were likely to end up as someone's Sally".
Once out, Rusty walked the straight and narrow playing with such luminaries as Shooty Muster's All-Stars, and Hal Blunt and the Ho-Down Bunch, who from 1985-1989 were the official band of the USBFA (United States Bass Fishing Association). Rusty went solo for much of the 1990s playing mostly at science fiction conventions and tractorpulls. It was at The Galaxy Con in Baltimore where Rusty first met up with Dirk DeAblo and Slappy. "They were playing up onstage in this all Mr. Spock kinda band.", says Rusty. "Well them boys were just a wailin away at that tune that Spock does in episode 14 with the harp. You know, when he's tryin to be all hip... Anyway, I just new that I had to play with those boys and if we could get a combo going we could make some real puddin together."
Dirk DeAblo
Dirk was behind what is considered to be the landmark Sci-fi/Porn classic: "Earth vs. Uranus". He left porn in the early 80's when video took over. He felt video cheapened the medium, it made it feel,"Dirty". Dirk went on to found and lead the Church of Inner Peace & Disharmony. "Only through chaos, can one achieve his or her own Zen." Dirk is still very proud of his work on the CLINTON for PRESIDENT campaigns.
Slappy
Only two things ever really mattered to Slappy, comic books and drums. He was born Benito Akira Slappenheimer III, in May of 1967. Never one for school, Slappy dropped out at seven to devote himself to playing drums. Being a procrastinator, Slappy didn't start playing until he was 14. Up until then all he did was read comics, this led to an unfortunate side affect in his later teens. Slappy started to believe he was The Thing from The Fantastic Four. He would run into lingerie shops and covenant stores shouting," It's clobber'n time!" at the top of his lungs while only wearing a blue Speedo with a "4" painted on it.
After he was released from the hospital, Slappy found his way to Tijuana Mexico. He found work as a hotdog vendor at an illegal cockfight. When the police raided the fight, Slappy was arrested and thrown in a Tijuana jail for 18 months. Telling guys in a Mexican jail your there for not having a vendors license is asking for it, so he told them he shot a man in Tijuana just to watch him die.
It was while in jail that Slappy first discovered the movies of Dirk DeAblo. It was like a new world had been opened to Slappy. Sci-fi porn really grabbed his imagination. He started to idolize Dirk as a great director and visionary. But, even with this new interest Slappy had a hard time in jail. His 18 months turned into almost five years. It seems what they had there was a failure to communicate, Slappy didn't speak a word of Spanish. Slappy won't talk about his time in jail, and to this day he looses bowel control whenever he hears the word,"Federales."
After leaving Mexico, Slappy did his best to track down Dirk. He followed his trail all the way to a Sci-fi convention in Shanghai, Indiana. Dirk was part of a panel discussion with William Shatner, Dirk Benedict, Gil Gerard, Ron Jeremy and George Taki, "Chicks in space-valiant explorers or horny hotties." Taki came down on the side of valiant explorers.
Later Slappy watched as DeAblo got up and performed his one man band act dressed as Mr. Spock. Slappy knew he wanted to be a part of this. He talked Dirk into taking him into the band. They started performing the Sci-fi Con circuit as,"Mr. Spocks' One Man Band Duo."

Dirk-started mixing this morning. We'll have 13 total when it's done. Start thinking about art work. Throw the old stuff to the wind. My vote is to call it "Hunting in Suburbia". I'll be done by May 15th-ish.
