On the edge of jazz and hip-hop – Russian a cappella miracle!
JUKEBOX TRIO combines a cappella and beatbox technics. Instead of just singing standards we mix hip-hop beatbox, pop and r’n’b vocals and a cappella bass parts. We call it “street beat a cappella”. Just three voices, no instruments, but plenty of musical education, recognizable style and a bright performance made of each song.
We highly appreciate Bobby McFerrin and Take 6, but we’re trying to make something own. We write our songs mostly in English, our first album is on the way.
JUKEBOX trio makes a mix of jazz impromptu, rock drive, pop friendliness and a cappella beauty. That’s why we were called a “sound miracle” in Russia – and then were awarded Alla Pugacheva’s special prize on a “New Wave 2006” prestigious pop contest in Latvia. We opened Elton John’s show in Russia (Rostov-na-Donu) on July 2007. We were headliners of the main Russian jazz festival “Usadba Jazz 2007” (among the participants were Marcus Miller and Avishai Cohen).
That’s not a pop-music and not an underground. That’s just JUKEBOX!
Tribute is GREAT!!!! I can't believe the Beatles didn't get sued by Chuck Berry back then. If you listen to "You Can't Catch Me" by Chuck Berry, you will hear that it is the same exact music, with some of the same exact lyrics. Never understood why the Beatles claim that it's a Lennon McCartny song. Your version is GREAT!!!!
