Thanks Mookie. About Juke Boy Bonner and Studio 51:
My band, Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts, ran the Sunday sessions at London's Studio 51 between 1968 and 1970. During those sessions Mr. Bonner came over and played - exactly which dates I can’t remember. I believe he was brought over from the States by UK promoter Ron Watts through his ‘National Blues Federeration.’
Ron Watts is interesting as he was the founder of ‘Brewers Droop’ that included Mark Knopfler. He promoted Marc Bolan, Thin Lizzy, Status Quo and David Bowie before they were known. He also promoted for London's 100 Club, booking Duane Eddy and Jackie Wilson, and popularizing such acts as The Police, The Jam, The Stranglers, The Clash, The Damned, The Buzzcocks, and the then unknown Sex Pistols - and later, elsewhere, U2 and Marillion. Not only did he bring to the UK Juke Boy Bonner, but John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters.
