Jule has carved her niche in the entertainment industry over the past eight years. She is a singer-songwriter, actress and voice over artist, based in the USA, specifically, in the Metro NYC/New Jersey area. In 2005 Jule re-released her debut album "Little Did I Think" (original release 2003) which has been described as having "raw and introspective lyrics, fueled by a classic rock engine..." and has gained recognition for her in the industry.
July 2006, Jule released her second album "Let it Go" A collection of songs that's Rock and Roll in it's purest form, with infectious grooves, and unique themes and lyrics, which her fans have come to expect.
As of this writing, Jule is actively working on a new album, that she perceives to be her best. The song Wonderin' from her upcoming (untitled) CD, has recently been placed in the soundtrack of Caught Off Tard, an eclectic independent film, that won awards in the NY and LA film festivals.
Several of Jule's songs from her CDs, Little Did I Think & Let It Go, have been placed in independent film soundtracks (Girls Night Out, Linger, Idiots Are Us & Billy's Blue)
She has gigged with Jule Carey & the Boyz for Higher, and two line ups of The Jule Carey Band. Jule produces music in her home studio using CakeWalk/SONAR, Soundforge, Shure 58 Mic, Casio Midi Keyboard, Guild & Ovation guitars.
Additionally, she is a published poet having featured poems in The Aquarian Arts Weekly, Blood Moon Rising (Sapphire Publications), Talent in Motion Magazine NYC, Now - Literary Magazine.
Jule recently was commissioned to portray an undercover detective in an upcoming indie film from writer/director Buzz Cartier called "Filthy Rich Filthy Uncle Phil". The scene shot in May 2007 in the infamous suburbs of the Garden State. Check back for updates about this hilarious indie film.
In the past, Jule secured a supporting acting role in the horror film Girl's Night Out, which gained international distribution with the DVD featuring two Jule Carey music videos. In 2006 she completed filming two acting roles in BloodHounds & Idiots Are Us, the latter of which won Best Comedy in the NY International Film & Video Festival in 2006.
Currently Jule is an on-air radio personality with her own weekly hour-long show "Jammin' Wit Jule" airing 4 times a week in the USA (EST) and 4 times a week in the UK (GMT). Her weekly one hour internet radio show airs on ExtremeRadio.co.uk and InternetMetalRadio.com featuring ...Cutting edge Rock and Metal tracks from top artists. Jule Carey will be appearing in Filthy Rich Filthy Uncle Phil, a dark comedy feature movie by writer/director/producer Buzz Cartier, which will be screening Friday, June 5, 2009 @ 7:30 p.m. at WOMR at the Old School House located at 494 Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA.
ADMISSION IS FREE. Donations to WOMR are welcomed.
The movie has not been rated. Must be 18+ to enter.
Buzz Cartier will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.
