Interests
General
Reading fiction, and left wing non fiction. Watching too much TV, and hanging out with my kids, at the cemetary that came with the 20 acres my husband and I live on. I love to write, but don't find the time to devote to it.Music
wide range. Pixies, Leonard Cohn, early Niel Diamand, Hamiltion Camp, Jean Ritchie (anyone??), Hedwig and the Angry Inch soundtrack, Morphine, Nancy Griffith, Ben Folds, the Mcgarrigle singers, Bauhouse, Smiths, Jimmy Rodgers, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Reverand Horton Heat, Arlo and Woodie Guthrie, Joan Armatrading, Pearl Jam, Gorden Lightfoot, early Tori Amois, this could go on for as long as I'm brainstorming, but you get the idea.Movies
Television
CBS Sunday Morning, World Wire on Discovey times channel, CNN, Family Guy, Arrested Development ( whenever I can find it) CSI Las Vegas, most of the cheap true crime documentaries on A&E and Court TV, Nova and Frontline, Dr. G Medical Examiner; yes I admit it, Desperate Houswives followed by Greys Anatomy. Fairly Odd Parents and the occasional Spongebob, but only if Squidward is in a very sour mood. Sure there must be more considering, how many hours the tube stays on around here. but those are all that come to mindBooks
This is a hard one. Bloom, She's Come Undone, The Group, The Three Martini Playdate ( for the real parents out there) Range of Motion, The Coming Plague, The Story of Junk, To Kill a Mockingbird, most Chuch Palahniuk, esp. Lullabye, Flamingo Rising, How I Came West and why I Stayed, Give War a Chance, The Bad Seed, Nickeled and Dimed to Death in America, The Right to Privacy.

About me:
I'm 35 yrs. old and happily married to a helluva a guy. We have two children, a boy 5 yrs. and a daughter 4 yrs. We moved out on to twenty acres last year that came complete with it's own cemetary dating from the 1800's to the present. This has become one of the most peaceful havens in my life. Just sitting there makes me feel warm and happy the way libraries and bookstores do. I'd have never imagined. Having never lived in the country before this has taken some adjustment, but I would never go back to living ass to elbow back in the burbs. We are not incorportated, which means no city service, but also mean no city ordinances or other hassles. We're our own little world. My brother in law also lives with us. He is full blown AIDS, but in amazingly good health. This too has taken an adjustment. We have a bobcat that lives right off the top of our hill, a den of pygmye rattlesnakes somewhere, and countless other wildlife that live happily around us, but can still be a bit unverving at times for this city girl. I was a case manager for adults with disablilities until I got married, then university student with a major in social work until I had my son. That last stint convinced me that social service is probably not what I want to do with my life, what, I don't know. Both of the kids will be in school full time next year, so I'm trying to decide what to be when I grow up. Data base administrer? Short program, potential $$$, but possibly very dull. I'd love to write, but who wouldn't. So far I'm just sort of floating along, trying to stay out of trouble, ( had some legal trouble back in 2004, but that's for another time.) taking care of this place and its people best I can, while trying not to go stir crazy from the lack of social interaction that you take for granted, until you decide to (and are fortunate enough) stay home and raise the kidlets without speaking like a nursery school teacher all day.Who I'd like to meet:
