Sounds Like
a mad russian monk and a beautiful, sultry parisian go out to dinner, fall in love, have a child. that child moves to america and invades my music.
** this is julia alford fowler's myspace page. it is managed by her, not her publisher or record label because, well, she's just not that famous. so... if you want to shower her with praises or flail criticisms at her, she'll get them and no one else. either way, please do hang out here for a while, listen to the music read some blogs and come see a performance if one is available, and do visit often. as soon as there are new tunes to post, they will be posted. and please, tell your friends...
**************************************************************************** i started writing music when i was a kid, started writing it down when i was 19 and then kept writing. i've been influenced by many people along the way, but mostly have attempted kept to myself in trying to develop my 'style'. i'm now looking to draw more on other sources but still write music that expresses the sacredness of god but also what it is to be human. it's not all that deep, but it's what i am usually trying to get at.
******************************************************************************* julia lives in philadelphia with her husband, buddy mercury, her dog, geech, and two roommates [who, while being stinky males, do a really pretty good job of cleaning up around the place]. when not writing or exploring philly, she busies herself with planning and promoting concerts of music for herself and colleagues. she is currently in the DMA program for Composition at Temple University and is studying with the effervescent Matthew Greenbaum.
If you would like to contact me and are not a myspace person, you can do so at: julia.af[at]temple.edu
So to answer your question about why it says I haven't signed in since forever ago, I have no idea. As if you can't tell, I am not Myspace savy. I really don't know how to edit anything. I would love to learn how. Like for instance, how do you change the background color? I would definetly burn you a CD but I am currently out of blank CDs. I handed out all of them before I left New Orleans. Once I pick up some new ones I will definetly burn you one. If you have anytime this upcoming weekend, I would love to sit down and talk to you about what you have done in the city and what I should check out. I organized an event in New Orleans that went really well and I want to try to do it here as well but so far I don't know anybody in the scene and I would love to talk to you about it. Let me know if you and your husband want to get some dinner or coffee or whatever, and we can talk new music philly style! P.S. if you know of any youth choirs that are looking for an accompanist or music director definetly tell them to call me.
HI! How are you doing? I will put up music soon..after school is over :) Might me in PA some this summer I will let you know. I hope you are well!!!!
