ABOUT JULIAN ANGEL
Julian Angel was born in like 19something and started playing the piano at the age of eight and got tortured with boring etudes for the next three and a half years. After he had given it up at about 11 Julian got into sports heavily (he had been in one team with Dirk Nowitzki back when he was skinny and childish, hey...) but picked up his dad..s old guitar at 14 and then spent about three to five hours a day practicing and rocking out in his room (being the top act there, don..t need to mention this, huh?).
Julian Angel went through that typical thing, meaning bad school bands and playing youth clubs until at the age of 19 he joined a professional coverband making him the guy with the biggest wallet in school - of course he spent everything, forcing him to sell some old records to afford gas to see his girlfriend then...
In 2000 Julian recorded his first self-produced solo album titled "angel-rock.com" (I was hoping this was a marketing teaser, he says) and yeah, he got some great reviews, interviews, airplay and comparisons with famous acts like Bon Jovi, Firehouse, Motley Crue... Julian was also nominated for "Best Guitarist 2000" at the German Rock Awards (but they f***ed him over, as he says...).
Years later Julian Angel found himself writing songs in various styles for a few other artists but could hardly make up his mind for an own direction and a follow-up album to "angel-rock.com".
Now today Julian is currently working on some new material which DEFINITELY will make it on a new album. The sound will be a cross between good old hard rock and modern black grooves. "Yeah, I..ve always loved loud guitars and cool grooves, but figured out that commercial r&b music always sounded a little light off, so I decided to give it a punch and some greater hooks".
