I arrived via VBAC on 12/05/07 at 6:38pm, thanks to Carolynn (Mama's doula) and Hsiu Li (her midwife). I was 19.5 inches long and weighted 7 lbs, 4 oz. I'm a really calm baby and cute as a button...the diagnosis of Craniosynostosis doesn't even seem to have bothered me in the slightest.

I underwent a craniectomy on 1/22/08 to release the sutures in my skull, and am scheduled for another one on 9/9/08. When it happens, I'll be out of commission for about a week (but you know my Mama will be updating). Wish me luck!

The questions the folks get asked a lot are:
"What does he need?" and/or "what can I do to help?"?
I don't need a lot of physical things, since my folks still have stuff from my older sister. Due to the astronomical costs of the surgeries, though, they'd love babysitting, casseroles, or, if you'd like tohelp in a more material fashion, a few bucks. The surgeons' bills alone are over $70,000 a piece for these surgeries. We do have insurance for me, but that doesn't cover all of it, and then there's hiring a babysitter for Rory, dinners and parking at the hospital, and all the lost wages Papa is out for taking unpaid Family Leave to be with me in the hospital. They'd also love gift certificates to Waddle and Swaddle, or just a note saying you're thinking of me.
