About me:
I am a certified Reiki Master and teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition. I also work with Bach Flower Remedies and a few other things I've learned along the way.
I have a penchant for getting myself into odd scrapes and misadventures, and a knack for storytelling.
Put the two together and you get "The Misadventures of a Coat Check Girl", the myspace blog I've maintained since late 2005. It's a very honest and often comical view into the ins and outs (pun intended) of living and loving as a fiercely independent woman in Portland.
If you spend any time around me, chances are you'll end up in there, so be warned. I change the names to protect the guilty, but I write with a candor that alarms some and charms others.

Who I'd like to meet: Writers and muses, artists, performers, and rabble-rousers of all sorts who might be interesting to photograph.
I'm also happy to correspond with people showing a sincere interest in Reiki, flower essences, or other forms of energy/healing work.
Please have the courtesy to read the profile. If you have intelligent things to say/ intelligent questions to ask regarding any of my listed or even related interests, by all means do so. A respectful and considerate approach will be returned in kind. I won't even consider your friend request unless you have sent me an introductory email first. It is called a "request" for a reason---mind your manners.
And please do not assume we are soul mates because we are both on myspace. I do not read Michael Crichton or enjoy blowing things up, nor will I answer requests for "a piece of that American ass" (that's Colombian ass, or didn't you read the profile?)
so nice to hear from you. i wonder how the whole ohm family is doing. i miss everyone so much. it truley was a special time for me. please keep in touch. hurray for myspace!
There is just something magical about her... she makes me laugh! I am THRILLED that you get the same kick out of her that I do. I might be her Dad, but I can't take credit for who she is... she just IS that person.
Like Prometheus we are bound, Chained to this rock of a brave new world, Our godforsaken lot. And I feel that's all we've ever needed to know, 'Til worlds end and the seas run cold.
Don Webb, ex-head of The Temple of Set had this to say about Ertha Kitt...
"ERTHA KITT PLAYS VALHOL
The glamour of the dark was strongly portayed to my young soul as Catwoman, espiecally the thrid season Catwoman, Eartha Kitt. She left this world on December 25, and I wonder what marvelous smoky palace she sings in now.
When the US government decided to "give" land to the Cherokee nation, they killed the Cherokee horses and then had the Cherokee walk to their gift, away from the land they had lived on for about 500 years. Many women and children died, so the Cherokee did what they always did, bought women. (This is why the Oklahoma Territory fought on the Southern side in the Civil War). Black Cherokees (like Black Seminoles) are beautiful people. A white guy raped Eartha's mom, and the child of misadventure was sent to be raised by an aunt in Harlem. Nowadays mixed blood kids aren't a big deal. In my dad's generation, a different story (as family history tells.)
Catwoman, well OK. But what about a woman that Orson Welles casts as Helen of Troy in Doctor Faustus -- yes she was the woman that the Devil himself was the most beautiful. Orson Welles called her "the most exciting woman on earth."
What about a woman that tells off Lady Bird Johnson in the Rose Garden about the Vietnam war? It's one thing to protest at Berkley, the White House itself -- not so much. She had almost no work in the US until 1974, when Jimmy Carter invited her back. Would you protest at the White House?
I suspect the Devil had it right. Now her Ren, her truename is in your care."
