The legacy of the Muscogee Nation echoes forth from their tribal son, Julian b. Hailing from Oklahoma, this international artist hopes to enlighten the masses through education and heart-driven music. In 1990, upon completing his studio work with the multi-platinum group, the GAP BAND, it became clear that hip-hop would be taken to new and higher levels. In 1994 his first full-fledged album Once Upon a Genocide was released and has been referred to by many as the only classic Hip-Hop album by a native artist. Since then Julian b. has been gaining respect from music pioneers by sharing the stage with the likes of Public Enemy, The Sugar Hill Gang, The Last Poets, WAR, REDBONE, Grand Master Flashs Melle Mel, Ani DiFranco, and Jello Biafra. He says hanging out with DEAD PREZ, Rage Against the Machine, Fugazi, RUN DMC, George Clinton, RAKIM, and Sting has only made him humble in his quest to create conscious music.

Concerts that Julian b. has honorably performed at are as follows; Montreux Jazz Fest (Switzerland), Green Party Super Rally (Chicago), Club Sevilles (Pensacola), Red Nations Celebration (Los Angeles), Apache Nations Unite (Arizona), A.I.M. Anniversary Celebration (Minneapolis) for three consecutive years, Indigenous Peoples Day (Cleveland), concerts for four years straight and many other American Indian functions including the Gathering of Nations Electric 49. Julian b. has donated much of his time to performing at benefit concerts for various causes such as, the Zapatista Movement. These events among others have led him to be covered in such publications as Indian Artist, the Lakota Times, Native Peoples, BLU, Aboriginal Voices, The L.A. Times, Platinum, Ritmo Beat and the Source. In 1998 the Native American music Awards nominated Julian b. for the best Hip-Hop Album and yet another nomination in 2002. At Milwaukees Indian Summer Film Fest, Julian received his first award for best music video in 2003. Hip-Hop is soul food, he feels he has a chance to walk "heads up" with youth and teach expression, sobriety, and self-esteem through the arts and traditional ways of life. The Noble Peace Prize recipient Rigoberta Menchu-Tumm shared words with Julian, What you do in the struggle is important, and the people will listen. Working with a vision driven by the spirits of his ancestors, Julians music is frequently heard on play lists captivating a worldwide audience. The music is the medicine, let it heal as well as educate.
