MySpace a place for friends

This is the official MySpace page for Julian Lennon, but it is not maintained or run on a daily basis by Julian, hee hee.... Julian does however visit the page often to check the messages, so feel free to leave him comments, but due to the huge quantity of mail that Julian receives and available space in the inbox, there is no way he can save or respond to all of the mail, although he will get back to you when he can, generally by Blog. After more than an eight year Sabbatical, Julian has now finished writing and recording his sixth, as yet untitled album, due for release later this year.He will also be launching a new exciting website encompassing his music and other interests and passions in his life, so keep a watch out for this and other future plans & projects. ( www.julianlennon.com ) "If I was gonna write again I had to live again, I had to look deep inside myself and start again." So says Julian of his decision to return to the music industry. Indeed at the start of this decade it seemed unlikely that Julian would ever record again. Despite the fact that he launched his career with the International hit single 'Too Late for Goodbyes' later followed by 'Saltwater' amongst others, and the fact that between the years 1984 and 1998 he released five albums with combined sales of over five million - Julian had tired of the media circus. His original independent label Charisma records had become absorbed into a major, and his success had attracted some "advisors" who were more than ready to relieve Julian of his income: "Control over your career is so important. How can you express yourself when other people are trying to do it for you?" So Lennon quit. He spent the next few years living the life he had previously been denied during his punishing schedule. Relaxing in his lakeside house in Northern Italy, Julian loved Cooking, Photography, Sailing, Travelling. Accumulating antiques, rifling through flea markets. Anything that didn't involve the dreaded 'M'-word. During his musical hiatus, Julian decided to focus on other projects & concerns, one of them being: Environmental & Humanitarian issues. So, he decided to co-Produce an Independent film called 'Whaledreamers' Written & Directed by a close friend, Kim Kindersley, which took in total, 10 years to make and which has to date, won 8 International Independent film Awards. I've always been interested in film, interior design, photography and cooking, and continue to do so as a possible 2nd career, so to speak, but in the end, I started playing again because of my love of music, I dream music - and I didn't want to walk away from it all with the first four albums as My legacy!"
