The Moonstone

~


It stood there on the sand
Beaming with the rainbow's hues
Pale gold to silver melted,
Bestowed on the precious shore
To celebrate the world.


The waves got bluer as they neared it
Or according to the sun
Got greener or yellowed,
It's radiance overwhelmed
The sun's radiance hence!


Through the cristal waters
Fine chiselled fish, orange spot covered
Swam, happy and slim,
As if Magic had been!


Children encircled it
Staring and dazzled
'Twas the first time
They saw a moonstone fall
And hereby were stunned!
