We have been asked about the availability of t-shirts from the Concert For Liam. We DO still have t-shirts for sale (photos shortly). They come in black or white, have the foundation logo and all the band names/logos on the back. We have all sizes available so if you are interested in having a memento of this extraordinary night then please get in touch and we'll tell you how to get hold of one. There will be one produced for this year as well so keep an eye out for those.
Visit the Julie Cotton Foundation website by clcking on the poster.
If you wish to display the poster on your page then please copy and paste the following code into your profile where you want it and it will link to our website where people can find out more and then come back to our myspace via the link.
Please copy the code below and paste it into your page if you would like to publicly show your support of the foundation and this years event in particular. Thank you, it means the world to us.
Mark Cotton - The head of the foundation and the husband of Julie who's name became the focus for the charity.
Rock City, Nottingham - Staunchly behind the events from the very first one in 2002. Rock City have offered the foundation whatever is needed to make not only a success of the events but also the friendship and help that has allowed us to make our gigs what they are.
(This list of bands is not to be taken as the running order for the night. This will not be decided until nearer the concert and not released until the day itself.)
Here are some views of Rock City from the 2004 event. More photos will be added from the Concert For Liam later.
The Julie Cotton Foundation charity event for 2009 looks set to rival last year's phenomenal 'Concert For Liam' which has seen an extrordinary amount of money raised for Leukaemia Research and more is still coming in. Once again, thank you to everyone that did, and still continues, to support it.
This year the event is named the 'Concert For Life' and the foundation will be supporting 'Billy's Appeal' to build a Home From Home through CLIC Sargent, a charity that helps families whose children have cancer. We saw last year that Leukaemia and childhood cancer is something that a very many people feel strongly about. By supporting this appeal it will mean that more families have access to a specialist caring and supportive environment during this devastating time.
Last year saw 10 bands performing on Rock City's main stage, this year we've been even more ambitious and will be putting on 12. Those bands are:
The Julie Cotton Foundation was set up to raise money initially for Cancer charities but since then has expanded to include other emminently worthy causes locally, nationally and internationally. The foundation used much of the money we raised a couple of years ago to help to rebuild a village in Sri Lanka that was destroyed in the tsunami.
The foundation utilises members from all walks of life who are willing to perform a challenge, set up a fundraising event and more especially work with musicians to put on a live music event where the audience contribute through the price of their ticket and are not asked for more than that. Past events at both Rock City and the Rescue Rooms have been amazingly successful and we thank the bands that have been involved and more especially the audiences who have come to support the bands and the charity. Without you all, we could not have raised the money we have done. We also hope that we have provided (and will continue to provide) excellent entertainment in a great cause.
As more events are organised we will let you know what is happening, when and where the money is to go. In this way we hope that you will feel that you know for sure where your money is going and that it is not getting absorbed into administration.
We would also like to give a special mention to the members of the emergency services who have taken alot of time over the last three years to put on fund raising events (some extra-ordinary challenges as well) all in aid of the foundation and its' works.
i hope we helped raise a huge amount for you :). let us know what it is when you tally it up would you :)

After being involved with the previous fantastic Julie Cotton Foundation events i thought i knew what to expect....how wrong was i!..i don't think ive ever experienced that level of emotion and love in one single place...at times it was draining....It made me realise how honored i was to be a part of this celebration of a very special young boys life...and also very humbled to be lucky enough to be friends with the VERY special group of people who sweat blood to organise it (You know who you are ) In the words of the great Jimi Hendrix " When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace" Simon FALSE MARIA

Hi Martin T-shirts are still available from The Old Volunteer in Carlton. Send me a message if you want one sending to you or call in after 5 in the week, or all day weekends. Love and peace Lol
It was good to see all sorts of people turn up aswell, rather than the usual 'Rock' lot that we see through the doors!
I wanted a T-Shirt, but didn't have any money on me. Will you be flogging them online any time soon?
No idea about the shirt and the microfibre cloth. I'll have a look and let you know. If we find anything it's handed in, so If they haven't been nicked, they'll be lurking around somewhere!
Get planning for next year! I'm sure it would be just as sucsesful!
