Bio:

Julie Dillon is a jazz/funk/soul singer & composer from Dublin now based in Berlin, who has fronted such groups as the 21 piece band The Global Funk Orchestra, The Company and her most recent outfit Julie & The Bold Boys which mixes her soulful vocals with the live jazz breakbeat fusion. Julie has performed for may different audiences including Main Stage at Electric Picnic, Cork Jazz Festival, Life Festival and for President Mac Aleese in The Aras an Uachtaran. She has sang alongside drum n' bass / jungle DJ's Equinox & DJ Markie as M.C. Julie .D. as part of REACH and 174 club nights. Julie has collaborated with Irish electronic producers Lakker, Automatic Tasty, Nicky Halliday, Alienhand, FuckRewindz, Acroplane and most recently ILEX. Julie is an active member of the ICC - Irish Composers Society and it is through their monthly concert series in the National Concert Hall, Dublin that Julie and other up and coming composers get to have their electro acoustic compositions performed. Julie has performed in London, New York, Berlin, Helsinki and Bangkok. She studied in UCD, Newpark Jazz College, IADT and Trinity College Dublin doing music and media technologies. Julie has also recorded with her NYC based brother Paul Dillon (aka Silver Rockets), who also was a member of Mercury Rev and Sparklehorse.
