I was a long time board member and still supporting of, www.fortheloveofchildrensociety.org . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I am a proud single parent of four beautiful children: Jade 25, Dallas 24, Beans 20, and Blade, who is 18. The last nine years of my life have been spent seeking a path of truth. I am the former wife of Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Many of you will know him from his days of professional wrestling with the WWE. You also may know us from an award winning documentary film about our lives called "Wrestling with Shadows." It has been a life filled with many wonderments, as well as many devastating losses during the years I shared with Bret. I am currently writing an autobiography with my sister Michelle, who has walked a similar path. The book will be the story of our personal tragedies during childhood; struggles with poverty and fame; and the eventual breakdown of our marriages. It is also a fascinating look at life behind the scenes in one of the world’s most controversial professions. Our writing will be a story of love and hope; spiritual journeys; and the need to help others through our experience. I have learned many personal truths since Bret decided to end our marriage. It took the ending of my marriage to propel me into finding the real Julie. I have stumbled many times these last few years, but always managed to pick myself up. I have travelled many paths in search of my truth. It's a hard road when we finally decide to make that journey. I found myself falling by the wayside many times; but my need for change was always stronger than my inclination to admit defeat. I have been a humanitarian for many years. I belonged to a wonderful organisation in Canada called "For the love of Children Society." I was the overseas coordinator, my work took me to all corners of the globe. I have travelled to many third-world countries and have felt the joy of providing relief and aid to children in need. We are a hands-on organization and our philosophy is to deliver aid directly, rather than hand the responsibility over to government agencies. I have been blessed to be a part of this humanitarian group and I am grateful for the experiences it has provided me. The act of compassion for others is a true reflection of our character.... I am of First Nations blood, a proud Metis. My family’s band is from Saskatchewan - ‘Carry the Kettle Nation’. The ultimate goal in my life is to work with First Nations children. I have researched my family history; and find it fascinating and empowering to be a part of the First Nations people of Canada. I might have to write a separate book on this story alone! I come from some interesting stock and it is something I would like to share with others. My family’s origins can be traced back to France in the 1500's, and the Fort Belknap Reservation in Montana. There are so many people who I would like to thank for everything my life has become. The list is endless; and I hope that everyone who has been a part of my life knows that it is their love and support and believing in me that has brought me to where I am today. Thanks to the creative genius "Tom" at myspace. I love Tom! And thanks to all of my new friends globally...who still find me interesting enough to wanna hook-up with, and chat with at weird hours of the night! Julie.
