There was lots of music in our house so I picked up a guitar and started writing songs at a young age. Bob Dylan and Neil Young inspired me to take up the harmonica. Later I developed a love of blues harmonica and music listening to the likes of Robert Johnson, BB King, Little Walter and Tony Joe White.
Joined the band Thornlands in 2000 and entered the world of celtic folk, fun, festivals and good times!
I love the occassional glass of friggin brilliant red wine and the voices of Aretha Franklin, Eva Cassidy, Ella Fitzgerald and Janis Joplin, the songwriting of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and Tracey Chapman.
Much love to my many folkie friends from The Kookaburra and Folk Redlands, musicians and creative people too numerous to name that have helped and influenced me. Good Karma goes to Pat Hall for her networking skills and encouraging me. I'd also like to thank my wonderful band friends who have been so supportive and put up with me over the past 10 years Patrick, Lee, Vicky and Paul from Thornlands XXXX.

Music has always been part of my life, it has been both my
therapy and an outlet over the years. I am sure I would have ended up going crazy without it! I love to sing, write and share with others songs about the blues, the joy, the humour and the irony in life. My music ranges in style from folk to country to jazz and blues.
I perform anything from the traditional songs of Ireland and Scotland to contemporary covers and originals in celtic infused folk rock band Thornlands. The duo SassyFrass with Vicky MacDonald features flute, guitar and great harmonies...“Two flowers with attitude weave tangled vines around beautiful acoustic music with its roots deep in celtic folk, blues and country.”
In various incarnations I have performed at pubs and clubs, wineries, weddings, partys, music festivals (Cygnet TAS, Woodford, Wintermoon, The Village and Redfest QLD) and folk clubs including Kookaburra Folk Club, Mad Ass, Foco Nuevo, The Bug (Brisbane Unplugged) and Folk Redlands.
