    Fille du musicien de jazz traditionnel Maxim Saury, Julie Saury a vécu depuis toujours entourée de musique et de musiciens, tel que Barney Bigard ou Tony Scott, que fréquentait son père. Enfant, elle étudie le piano et l’orgue et suit son père dans les festivals tels que Nice où elle entend les plus grands Jazzmen américains. .. C’est vers l’adolescence qu’elle commence la batterie et elle prend ses premiers cours à 18 ans avec le batteur de son père, Robert Ménière. .. A l’IACP ou elle participe aux ateliers comme batteur, elle étudie le chant avec Séphanie Crawford et Sarah Lazarus. Puis elle part à Nancy au CMCN(maintenant MAI) en 1994 pour étudier l’instrument avec Frank Aghulon et André Charlier. Elle complète sa formation par de nombreux stages au « Drummer’s collective » à New York sous la férule de Kim Plainfield ,Adriano Santos et Ian Froman. .. Percussionniste latine, membre des Rumbananas,qui ont animés musicalement "la Grosse Emission" sur Comedie pendant 4 ans,elle accompagne des formations salsa et latin jazz avec Orlando Poleo,Félipé Cabrera,Yaité Ramos, ainsi que de formations funk comme le groupe de Daniel Romeo, son activité principale reste le jazz et la batterie. Pilier du trio de Philippe Milanta et du Dukish orchestra de Laurent Mignard, elle a eu l’occasion de jouer avec de nombreux musiciens tels que , Teddy Edwards,Spanky Wilson, Sarah Lazarus ,Benny Green, Red Holloway,Louis Smith,Turk Mauro ,Pee Wee Elis ou encore Warren Waché et Harry Allen dans des festivals comme Bayonne ou Ascona ou en club à New York notamment. Elle est également membre du Grand Orchestre du Splendid. .. Actuellement elle fait partie du Ladies quartet de Rhoda Scott ainsi que de la formation Rhoda Scott, Olivier Témime, et Johnny Griffin.Elle fait également partie du projet de Sebastien Llado quartet. .. Depuis 2 ans,elle collabore souvent avec la talentueuse Carine Bonnefoy,notamment dans le quartet de Deborah Tanguy. .. .. .. Julie Saury grew up surrounded by music and musicians such as Barney Bigard or Tony Scott, friends of her father Maxim Saury. As a child she studied the piano and the organ and followed her father in all the jazz festivals such as Nice and Antibes where she could listen to the most talented American jazz musicians. .. As a teen-ager, she began playing drums and started studying with her fathers’ drummer Robert Menières. .. She continued her studies singing with Stéphanie Crawford and Sarah Lazarus at the IACP and at the same time was the drummer for the school’s big band. .. In 1994, she studied a full year course at the University of Nancy with Frank Aghulon and André Charlier. .. She joined many workshops and Master Classes at New York “Drummer’s Collective” working with Kim Plainfield , Adrian Santos and Ian Froman. .. .. Also a percussionist, she became a member of a group called Rumbanana with wich she performed daily a televisison show for four years,and joined many other salsa and jazz Latino formations. She also plays in funk bands such as Daniel Romeos’ but she is essentially a jazz drummer. .. A pillar of Philippe Milanta’s trio and of Laurent Mignards’ Dukish orchestra, she features in many line ups such as Teddy Edwards, Spanky Wilson, Sarah Lazarus, Benny Green, Red Holloway, Louis Smith, Turk Mauro, Pee Wee Elis or Warren Vaché and Harry Allen in festivals such as Bayonne and Ascona or in different New York jazz clubs. .. She is also part of the Big Band Le Splendid. .. Currently the drummer for Rhoda Scott; she plays also with the Rhoda Scott quartet, comprising Olivier Témine and Johnny Griffin. .. For the past two years, she has been working with the talented Carine Bonnefoy, and in particular with Deborah Tanguys’ quartet. ..
